Charlie’s is a lovely little place. Beautiful tiny garden at the back. Location is good, less than ten minutes walk (up hill) to the centre of town. Comms with Rachel was brilliant. The score doesn’t tally (for us) to the matching description. We had a ‘good’ stay, but 7/10 seems unfair which is why we rated it 8.

Oh my…the bed was so hot!! Realised after a restless few nights that there were actually THREE waterproof mattress protectors (one of them extremely thick!) plus a normal protector before the top sheet. Because of three nights bad sleep, our stay was ‘good’ rather than ‘very good’. Felt a bit rushed having to strip the beds before the 10:15 check out.

Fabulous! Beautifully furnished and considerately equipped with everything you could possibly require. Every nook and cranny of Charlie's Cottage is full of useful, thoughtful things. It's clear that much thought has been given to making the cottage welcoming and comfortable for guests. Charlie's Cottage feels cosy and loved. The hosts are helpful, hospitable and affable. The cottage is perfectly situated for fantastic restaurants, tempting shops, history and gorgeous walks; all just a pleasant stroll away. We didn't move the car once during our long weekend!

My friend would have liked a washing machine but we were there for only a few days so it was not necessary!

Excellent location and very well presented. Owner had left a history of the property which was very interesting. Lots of information regarding things to do and local shops

Although a parking permit was given there is no guarantee that you will get a space and might have to pay extra. We were lucky and always found a space.

Our second stay and it was perfect. A home from home feeling. Kitchen is well stocked, the sofa and beds comfy and spring time garden is in bloom. Charlie’s cottage is well maintained and is a real hidden treasure. See you soon!

Home from home, comfy, very well-appointed cottage. Very helpful owners, prompt responses. A very convenient base to explore the beautiful area and historic town. We'll visit again.
