Foundry Farm House

The house is in the ideal spot. Little brewery at the end of the street, enough parking, Hareshaw Linn walk starting outside the property, three lovely village pubs and amenities on your doorstep. The hosts had tea bags and biscuits out for our arrival, and the Christmas tree was up with lights on, which was a lovely surprise. Heating was on as requested, and it had plenty of glasses/ cups/ plates for 7 adults.

This property was fantastic at one point; however, the hosts have let a few things slip that are easily solved. - The plug in the main bathroom is old, rusty and dirty ( This brings the bathroom down) - The bathroom had shampoo/ conditioner/ soap dispensers with nothing in, - The top of the stairs carpet is worn and coming away, with carpet running on full display - The house needs a lick of paint. Walls are chipped and flaking - If you advertise a real stove fire, logs should be left for guests to use. - The settee situation is silly. To advertise a house for eight people, but only have one corner sofa in the living room for eight people to sit on is ridiculous. (Luckily, I read this on quite a few other reviews, so I brought my own camping chair, which was definitely needed for our group) * On the Sunday when we were leaving, all the power went out. This was 8:30am on Sunday morning, so we were unable to have breakfast, and there was no electricity or hot water before leaving the house for the 10 am check-out. This was a planned power cut to fix some lines/ cables. The host should have warned us of this on booking!

Had everything we needed and great for a family stay.

Sofa was not big enough for 8 people and beds a bit firm, however overall a lovely place.

Location is great. The house is great too. The house holds upto 8 comfortably but we come to this house as 4 so we can have a bed each. Place is lovely and warm and spacious.

Place is starting to need somethings replaced. Shampoo and conditioner pumps in the bathroom are not looking there best. Hot tub controls where not working properly and the tub was look warm. The outside table is starting to flake and the bird poo on the pavement was a mess. I know you can't control the birds but this was not new bird poo. Hot tub was not the clearest too.

Could do with a little TLC

The house was perfect for our needs, we were a family of 6 adults and 2 children and dogs. The size and location of the property were amazing, well stocked with essentials and very clean throughout. The hot tub was clean and very hot! The brewery next door was amazing also with friendly staff.

Ideally the sofa could be larger to account for the capacity to seat 8, but large table and chairs nearby to use instead.

Beautiful house in a lovely location. Nice cafes, pubs and great walks.

Beds were a little bit hard but a comfortable sleep

Excellent location for local walks eg waterfall, kielder, pubs etc. kitchen was well equipped with basics, cutlery etc. dining table was good size for amount of guests. Hot tub was a great addition and plenty of outdoor space with towels provided. All areas were clean on arrival.

Property was in need of some TLC in communal areas eg marks on walls, carpets short on stairs. Beds were quite hard which some guests found uncomfortable. Had to ring several times before reaching someone to get the lock box code; would have been better to have receive this via message prior to arrival.
