The Woodlands - Zillo

This is a lovely place with very nice decor, the beds are comfortable and overall the place is clean and well kept

There are some errors in the list of facilities for the property. There is no air conditioning, not even any fans, which was disappointing having travelled during a heatwave and deliberately chosen a place advertising aircon. There is a fridge but certainly no "minibar" and the freezer compartment needs defrosting. There are towels but no bathrobes and there is only one bath towel per person. The house is terraced , not semi-detached. The bathroom is mostly clean but has peeling wallpaper and some mould and limescale around seals and corners with ventilation via a window. There is no clothes rack. There is free parking but important to be aware this is on street on a narrow road and is not allocated so depends on there being a space, and not off street.

Couldn't access the premises initially. Code on keysafe had been changed, but not notified to us. It was very cold inside. Took ages to warm up and the gas fire did not work. Boiler had been turned right down. Not welcoming at all to go into a cold house. No tea towels or a dishcloth. No instructions on how anything worked.

The house was much bigger than we expected. Nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. The bed was good and the shower was excellent. Also in a good location to walk to the town centre.

Tidy, clean and fairly spacious terraced house on the outskirts of Bishop Auckland. 15 minutes on foot its not central but as close as you could ask for with far more to offer than a hotel. 6 beds in total, its perfect for those on the road with a fair number travelling. The price too was impeccable value for money. Kitchen stocked with all the essentials, great shower, smart TV (massive plus!) and comfortable beds. Didn't meet any staff of course but all relevant info sent beforehand.

Not particularly an issue for myself but be aware of the steps in a property like this being fairly steep. Check out time isn't the greatest for myself but understand the logistics behind check out and cleaning.
