Really nice clean cottage, some lovely goodies left for us all homemade by Janet. The best eggs we have ever tasted!

"A beautiful cottage owned and run by wonderful people, 40 seconds away from my new favourite pub!"

10.0

What did I like about this property? Everything! It’s as pretty as it looks in the photos, it’s charming inside, warm, cosy and comfortable. There’s a wonderful log fire to fall asleep in front of and when you do go to bed, if you open the window all you can hear is the stream. Just wonderful. But it gets better! The owners are two of the nicest people I’ve met and couldn’t have done more to make my stay as enjoyable as possible! The world needs more people like you! But it gets even better than that! 40 seconds walk away is the Shoemakers! An outstanding community owned pub. Great beer, great company, superb experience. All in all I cannot recommend this property enough.

What didn’t I like? Leaving at the end of my stay. I’ll be back for sure.

"Lovely surrounding and people for a kind relaxing stay."

9.0

We approached the cottage from Brecon and it took us about 20 mins drive (half of it on the typical narrow countryside roads). Almost no traffic, so an easy drive. The cottage owner was on site and gave the keys immediately. Also explained all we had to know about the cottage, the facilities. Finally provided a book full of information about nearby points to visit. Really friendly and helpful. The surrounding area is calm, best to relax, nothing to do other than visit the pub on the next corner (great drinks and food, lovely staff and guests). It was a good time to chill out. The house itself is a half-a-twin with two bedrooms upstairs, a nicely decorated living room, a big (well equipped) kitchen and a bathroom w/ toilet. The stairs up are narrow but it was not difficult to pull up the luggage we arrived with. There are some chickens and sheep in the garden (separated with a fence), so some noise may be expected during the day but not serious, not disturbing an afternoon sleep. There is a shielded patio and open fire place for BBQ in the garden which is great when the weather is sunny. Should one need to do some shopping, Brecon is a great place to visit (also for site seeing). Highly recommended!

It was not critical but the shower hot water runs through a wall mounted heater which needs care to adjust the water temperature. Not a major issue, jut be prepared.. There is nothing else I could point as "less than perfect".
