The Pigsty

We visit the area all the time trying out different places to stay this one pretty much ticked all the boxes especially the bed so comfy! Just needs a fan in the kitchen above the oven, would def stay again thanks

Very local to our daughter and her husband who are refurbishing a cottage opposite.

Location was central to the village and opposite the only pub in the village, so perfect.

A microwave.

The hosts did everything to make us welcome including a welcome pack and comprehensive notes to enjoy the facilities onsite. The Pigsty is located in a quiet village with just a pub. The Pigsty can be found down a driveway and offered all the amenities we needed, is dog friendly and was a good base to visit surrounding areas of interest. I would just add that unless self catering and the Pigsty has all the cookware, utensils, crockery and cutlery etc, the nearest restaurants are 10-15 minutes by car. The pub was welcoming, but serves pizzas from Wednesday through to Sunday bewteen 5-8pm.

We liked everything, but a microwave would have been a useful addition in the kitchen.

The property was excellent. It felt like home from home. The furnishings were lovely and comfortable and the bed very comfy.. Bathroom lovely and very good shower. Kitchen has good facilities and pleased to see all crockery and cutlery were matching instead of a mix as is often the case. It was lovely and peaceful and nice to have an outside seating area. The location was perfect for travelling around the area.

Nothing really. We had a bit of trouble using the tv but I think that was probably because we are not used to using a firestick, usually watch free to air! I would prefer it if we could put recycling separate to the waste. We actually took a bag of recycling home with us.

Location good but road exceptionally busy with speeding farm vehicles day and night . Pub good. Clean .

Photos deceptive - very small . Needed blinds closed all the time for privacy . Patio area small. No off road parking. Very poor storage for clothes. Would have been inadequate if weather had been wet for drying clothes and dog. No vacuum ☹️ TV complicated .
