It was lovely and very spacious a lot bigger than I was expecting. It’s felt like a mini home. Very comfortable and the hot tub was a bonus.

Shower hose was leaky No chopping board No surface spray or wipes Light above bed one wasn’t working LED lights outside by hot tub stopped working

Advice to have slip on footwear too get to and from the lovely hot tub, and a higher stool to access.

Great location, very clean we had a lovely weekend

Great location overlooking the lake with a table and chairs view from the window as well as a sofa and birdcage chair in from of TV

The WiFi signal was terrible. The bathroom hot tap is loose and causes a leak. The hot tub lid is slimey and green as under trees I suspect but could do with a proper clean.

Hot tub was great, bed was extra comfy, location was great

No sharp knives for preparing food, no salt pepper or oil, stones around the hot tub area isn't great, towels were small

The bed was lovely very comfortable.

The shower was stuck on boiling hot all the time, not cleaned before we got there very dusty and dirty. Floor around hot tub needs to be cushioned (or runner so water isn’t being walked back into lodge. No lighting at all round the hot tub sat in complete darkness. Hot tub was dirty on arrival had to fish insects out.

I loved the location. The cabbin was nice, hot tub was amazing 👏

The heating was not working so was freezing cold the first night and on the second day was given a little plug in heater and the bath was broken so only able to have a shower, the restaurant was not open only the bar so went off site for dinner as didn't feel comfortable eating in the bar

The location is great and the hot tub was a lovely addition to the stay. Unfortunately, the stay felt very over priced and to call the lodge luxury is a push.

The cleaning was as basic as it could be. There was dust everywhere, the lampshades, the bed, under the bed was just disgusting. The windows and mirrors were all filthy. The outside area was not cleaned or swept at all. It's just such a shame, this place has so much potential and it was a let down. We paid £450 for 3 nights it was not worth even £100 per night in my opinion. The maintenance was poor, like the missing blind in the kitchen that must have been broken a while as it was mentioned in the guest book on many occasions. The cooker hood didn't work. We were left 1 toilet roll and no toiletries, not even hand soap in the bathroom. I think basics like salt and pepper, sugar etc would make it 'luxury' The kitchen was sparsely equipped, just one teaspoon lol The freezer needs defrosting also. Lastly the bedding was bobbly and thin, not luxury at all. It feels like the owners don't really care and it's a shame :(

Magpie 6: A Hot Tub Time Machine. Our stay at Magpie 6 felt like stepping back in time, but unfortunately, not in a Bill and Ted kind of way. The location is undeniably gorgeous, and the cabins hold promise. However, they could use a little love and a serious dusting. Think cobwebs and a gentle caress of nostalgia. While the potential for a five-star stay is definitely there, we found the current price a bit steep for the condition. And a word to the wise: check if there’s a private party happening at the on-site lodge. Our peaceful wildlife getaway was rudely interrupted by a bass-heavy beats bonanza that lasted until 10pm, which isn’t too bad but pretty much breaks all the rules they set you in the welcome pack which states ‘no second chances, you will be out’. All in all, Magpie 6 has its charms, but it’s more of a diamond in the rough than a polished gem.
