Quintenvale House

Everthing! The house itself was spotlessly clean. The decor was bright and inviting with no marks anywhere. It was decorated to a high standard. Everything was there at hand. The kitchen was furnished with all that would be required on a home from home stay. Pauline supplied us with videos on how to operate the appliances therefore, we didn't need to contact her once with any issues, as we could refer back to videos when required. All very straightforward though. But the highlight is off course the stunning views of the majestic Mourne Mountains and the sea in the not too far distance. Beautiful part of the country.. Also the bonus of having use of the hot tub rounded the whole package of Quentenvale House up! There had been some reviews up about how Pauline was quite strict and came round whilst the guests were there. We found she ensured to let us know the rules and regulations regarding the hot tub etc, however this gave us the confidence in knowing the establishment was well run and looked after to a high degree. And we were not wrong. Our stay was totally uninterrupted with the exception of a lovely welcome message. We availed of the 10% discount card left for us off a meal in the local hotel, who picked us up at the door and dropped us home again. You couldn't ask for anything more. There is a little loo in the back of the bungalow facing a utility area with a sink. This is where one would wash their hands after using the facility, however there was no hand wash to enable us to do that. It's only a little gripe, and not really an issue at all in the grand scheme of our stay. But it would just be a good idea. When in the hot tub one can't benefit from the glorious view, so perhaps a couple of rows could be replaced with perspex, or a little perspex window would be inserted around the enclosure.....this would make the hot tub experience just perfect. Other than those little ideas there was nothing we didn't like! Lol

Nice location, jacuzzi, all you need is in the house, nice host. Great house for rest at peaceful place. Some reviews mentioned that host was strict with rules etc..hey if you own such a nice property you would like to see the people follow basic rules so everyone else after you can enjoy this place.

The location was excellent & so off the grid, it was so private. The views of the mountains are spectacular. The property was clean & well maintained & warm. The hot tub was large & well maintained & under cover from the elements. Beds were comfortable & the overall stay was very enjoyable.

Can’t really give a negative comment about the property

The host Pauline was so lovely me us to show us how everything worked. Property was spotless with everything we needed. She hD balloons and banners for our two friends who were celebrating their 50th. Hot tub was amazing as was the house so spacious with lots of towels and so comfortable. Would recommended Paulines home to everyone...would suit everyone's needs...Pauline also kept in touch incase we needed anything. Ten out of 10 for the ho.e and host and we will be back

4 double bed house with everything you need for your self-catering stay. Host will also arrange local restaurant transport to Kilkeel if you want to leave the car. Spacious and spotlessly clean. The hot tub is amazing as long as your understand the rules of use.

There are very strict rules for the hot tub which is totally understandable and these should be very clear before booking. I did not know about cash deposit for safety of hot tub before booking. It was fine, would prefer to know everything up front.

Pauline was a great host. She was there to greet you and explain how the hottub and kitchen appliances work, the house is home from home all you need to enjoy a great stay, make use of the commentary taxi and 10% discount at the Kilmory Arms Hotel, the food is great 👍 Thanks you Pauline

Property Fantastic - Host not so much. My mum , auntie, brother, sister in law & I booked a relaxing 2 night stay for my nephews 4th birthday. House is absolutely beautiful & the views are amazing. It’s an absolute shame that the host is a complete let down to the property. 2 minutes into Pauline arriving to the house at 6pm to greet us we were yelled at for ‘exposing’ the hot tub- meaning we opened the cover as you would with a hot tub that you paid to get into. Then proceeded to give a mountain of rules to 5 adults who know exactly how to respect a home. What was supposed to be a relaxing trip for two nights which cost £540 turned out to feel like Fort Knox. She takes £100 deposit for hot tub and she will find any excuse not to give you it back, we left the hot-tub crystal clear ready for her next guests, take photos upon arrival & after stay as I did 👍🏼 I had accidentally broke a glass on the ground beside hot tub late at night and decided to wait until morning when bright to clean as it was pitch black that night, as pauline stated she would arrive at 10.45 for check out I was going to make sure it was spotless before her arrival, unaware she would show up at 7am and take photos of the glass before I could clean it. We left the house & hot tub more spotless than what we arrived too. We were watched like a hawk & treated like children instead adult paying customers. We feel like we need another trip away just to relax from that trip, disappointing !!
