Long Barn Holiday Cottages

What a awful shame, writing this as I am returning home feeling rather disappointed, i originally would have this rated a 9.8 due to a beautiful cottage in a lovely location. When it says luxury it means luxury , no expense spared on the cottages , but had an issue on departure day , after a misunderstanding of using the pool , we booked this for departure day while the owner was showing us around on the day we had arrived , it has a booking system where you fill in your name and book hourly slots on paper at the entrance to pool , anyway so we get in to the pool the owner comes in and quite rudely tells us to get out and that he's just cleaned the pool and added chemicals to it , I apologise and we leave , I mention to my husband who was getting changed at the time , how he made me feel uncomfortable and tell him how I felt he had spoken to me rudely , my husband approaches him to say look we obviously never reliased we were not supposed to use the facilities but we are very well travelled and every other place we have visited it says vacate accommodation at a certain time which we did but we were under the impression we could use the pool as the owner had been there when we had booked in that slot originally, and discussed in front of him how we were going to have a swim before we left , he even made a comment how people rush to book in all swims when there is no normally no need , we felt he could have taken a more polite approach around this as we intended no wrong doing , the man then continued getting more rude and aggressive while we tried to resolve the situation , as we never like to leave leaving bad intentions , my daughter actually cried while leaving as she felt uncomfortable with his attitude , we told the owner it was a shame as we would of liked to of came back in the future but now wouldn't due to the confrontation, and he said he didn't care , he said he was trying to safe guard the children from the chemicals in the pool , we then...

Spacious, well presented and clean cottages. The games room and heated indoor swimming pool were fantastic.

Good set up - loved the outside space, the play room and swimming pool. Good facilities in the cottage.

Just to ensure standards are kept high a guest in our party suggested: “A couple of little things outside woodwork could do with a staining, toilet roll holder kept falling of the wall, front door not the easiest to lock/unlock, but really liked the whole set up”

Everything was very clean and fresh, lovely to have a small bottle of milk in the fridge already. The play area for the children were great and the pool was very clean and the perfect temperature. It is located in a lovely rural setting with very quick and easy access to everything you could need, lots of shops, beaches and everything in between all within 30 mins from the door.

Beautiful area, children loved the pool and the play facilities, cottage was good size with nice outdoor area
