Amber Lodge

Great views. Quiet area. Everything that could possibly be needed was supplied. Everyone enjoyed the lodge and the facilities.

My daughter booked this lodge for us and unfortunately there wasn't much I could say I liked especially for the money we paid.

The lodge was extremely far from the facilities and was directly next to a derelict building which was an absolute eyesore. The gate fell off when you opened it and all of the decking and fencing needed a good paint. There was nails on the decking which could have cut our grandson and also part of the fence wasn't actually attached which ment he would have also fell through the fence. Inside , the lodge was smelling of damp and in the cupboard it stated there was no gas heating due to supply issues. There was 3 oil heaters and only 2 of the 3 worked. The beds had feathers in the duvet rather than hypoallergenic bedding which caused me great issues. We paid £680 for 3 nights which was scandalous. When my daughter called the lodge owner she wasn't interested at all and argued every point. We came home a night early. It was awful. The owner needs to take all of this on board and make sure her lodge is fit for purpose and worth the small fortune it was. Im sorry but people should know. We go many holidays a year together and this was by far the worst especially for what was paid.

Location, quietness

The beds, bathroom and kitchen were nice and clean, however underneath the sofa throws blankets, cushions and sofas needed some extra hovering by us. Pre arrival instructions do not explain that you need to go to Hunters Quay info center to pay a small deposit for a key card for the automatic barriers to enter the park location. The Amber Lodge information folder was not very useful or maintained,
