The Gables

The house was really cosy but spacious - it had absolutely everything we needed and was a brilliant location for surrounding areas. The house itself was an easy short walk to a coop shop, pub, various cute shops selling local wares and of course the harbour. Keys were collected from a lock box and the hosts checked in that all was well - which it was. I’d definitely recommend the gables

Very central, close to shops, beach and great area. The house was comfortable and homely.

House needs work. The windows are rotten. The blind in upstairs velux is stuck. Can't open it. Blind in downstairs bedroom only opens half way up making the room very dark. There was no bath mat, making it very slippery taking a shower. A beautiful house but it definitely needs some TLC

The Gables was a true home from home. Very comfortable, spacious, clean and great value for money compared with others in the area.

Fantastic stay in Crail. Central location in this charming seaside village. Excellent amenities within a few minutes walking distance, including beach and costal path for dog-walking. Comfortable, clean and well-equipped home from home. Very good communication from owner. Already plotting a return visit!

Great location in the centre of Crail and 3 minutes walk to the harbour. Easy access to coastal paths. House absolutely lovely with a good size sitting room where we could relax. Highly recommend The Gables

Everything really, the location was perfect, a small walk to the beach, the bakers, the butchers, the greengrocers the Co-Op and two pubs, a pub / Italian restaurant was also within walking distance, and an amazing chip shop was almost next door. So everything you need within easy access. The house itself was lovely, well kept, full of character and very well stocked for our stay. All appliances, heating and electricity etc worked great and the bathroom was sizeable with a decent shower.

My only negatives shouldn't reflect on the location itself as they are all things I knew before travelling, so it seems a bit picky and trivial to even mention them but... 1. Outside Space, nowhere to have a little BBQ should the weather be kind 2. No private parking, that said there is loads of parking available so this shouldn't be an issue, you may want to unload then move to a longer term parking spot. 3. The lack of a downstairs toilet, or more specifically the lack of a second toilet/bathroom. It wasn't a major problem for us, but I could see it being one for a family where one or two like to hog the bathroom.

Crail is a lovely wee village, surrounded by lots of places for exploring. The house is lovely and is nicely decorated, with a spacious living room (where we appreciated the many board games on offer!).

Though the rest of the accommodation was clean the kitchen let it down - I had to clean all of the dishes before we felt comfortable using them as the cup had tea marks around the rims, the plates felt greasy and the pans didn’t look properly cleaned. Likewise the dining table still had crumbs under and on top of it.

Lovely house had everything we needed and more. Crail is beautiful with amenities close by and great bus service. Scenery is stunning 😍
