The Wee Barn. In the heart of the countryside

Lovely property and location maybe just felt a bit unfinished in places. Comfy bed and great nights sleep so could ask for more really. Had a home from home feel and the owner was great at accommodating us.

It was a little cold downstairs and unfortunately we found the log burner impossible to light.

Everything.

Keys were in the door waiting for us. Heating was on. Basic essentials like milk and eggs etc were available to us

Nothing. It was great!

The barn was a reasonable size and the bathroom was also a reasonable size. The shower was adequate with reasonable water pressure, and quick hot water. The kitchen looked nice and a decent size, however we didn’t use it. There is ample seating in the place and parking outside. The hosts seemed nice and friendly. You can tell a lot of thought and care was put into this accommodation, however perhaps they were not expecting us last minute.

The property was a bit hard to find in the dark. We booked on the day so somewhat last minute. The property didn’t respond when I messaged them about arrival and check-in, etc. There were no check in instructions, so when we arrived we just knocked on the main house door for 5+ minutes until someone answered. The bed was small. It is a barn so it’s old and the upper level is creaky. There were quite a few bugs and spider webs, etc. The laundry was full of laundry so we didn’t use it. There weren’t enough towels, however when we notified the owners, they rectified this quickly. The bath mat however was wet when we arrived.

Quite accommodation with fully kitchen lounge room , quick access to motorway for day trips
