"Disappointing. uncomfortable and not value for money."

1.0

WHAT BREAKFAST!!

(1) The sofas were old and uncomfortable. (2) The bedroom was cramped and dark. (3) The toilet/shower was so small and again cramped, the lighting was dim and inadequate. (4) There wasn't a welcome pack ( this is a standard client provision) (5) The television did not work, only pixilation on all channels for the duration of our stay. (6) Window blinds were inadequate for size of windows The owners were totally oblivious and made no attempt to make us comfortable they even double booked our last day, a complete lack of efficiency. The cost considering the above was extortionate and we therefore are looking for a substantial reimbursement to placate this unfortunate situation, failing a satisfactory response, we will refer the case to the trading standards commission. Whilst writing I wish to advise you that our daughter Lisa Comer booked the accommodation on our behalf further reference should be made to me. David Bowden. 14 Roffrey Avenue. Hamden Park. "Nice place, great location. Friendly and helpful host"

7.0

The location, free parking and recommendations from host

A few things needed attention. only a few paper towels, tripped on rug. gate operator needed a new battery. All very fixable so no real worries. Would stay again.

"A comfortable countryside place for the open-minded traveller"

8.0

A charming, authentic home experience for the price of a budget hotel in town. The hosts are highly responsive and welcoming, and the location allows for quick access to major roads. It’s somewhat tucked away but very easy to find thanks to great directions, with essential facilities at a short driving distance.

The absence of air conditioning will be a significant drawback during summer months. The owners' dogs are friendly but quite large and enthusiastic, which is worth noting for families with small children or anxious adults. The interior receives limited natural light, and the vintage pull-string curtains are a bit clunky to use. While I found the decor unique and full of character, some travelers might find the abundance of layered rugs and textiles a bit cluttered. Check-out requires guests to strip their own linens, wash the dishes, and dispose of the trash - a list of chores that feels a bit out of place for a paid accommodation.

Small quaint not too far to walk too calm pub one way and garden centre opposite way.

Uncleaned toilet u der the seat . No utensil spatula to get eggs out of frying pan. Unable to sit outside in courtyard without one of the 5 dogs racing around either barking at you .Or trying to get into the cottage or car !!!

"The warmest and cosiest of welcomes awaits you at this tranquil cottage where you’ll leave feeling totally recharged and"

10.0

Fantastic location and only a short 6 min commute by car in to Basingstoke. After a long drive I was delighted to find this tranquil little cottage with all the cosy comforts needed for my 2 night stay. Claire (the host) could not have been more helpful in making sure I made the most of my stay offering ideas on places to visit and eat, so much so I had to rebook so I could work my way through the list. The cottage was immaculate and the bed was so comfy, I slept the best I have done in years! Was lovely to wake up to such a beautiful view surrounded by countryside, I’ll definitely be going out to explore more of the sites next time

What’s not to like, it well and truly exceeded my expectations
