Quiet location with easy access to Skye. Parking was on the roadside outside the property (not on-site) but there was never a problem parking right outside the house.

The heating system is fuelled by an open fire which needs to burn for an hour before the radiators can be switched on, and the switch is behind the sofa. The coal is kept in the garden shed and the coal buckets need filling every day. Unfortunately there was a big ladder on the ground restricting access to the shed and also creating a trip hazard. Maybe a plastic coal dispenser outside the back door, or even in the shed would be helpful ( we have one of these at home). Electric heaters are provided but these only heat the room that they are in, the bathroom was extremely cold especially in the morning when having a shower. The heaters also get very hot which would not be ideal with small children. This all needs to be detailed in the description of the property rather than once payment has been made and the booking is confirmed. Notwithstanding the ladder, the garden was untidy. We visit Scotland in March every year and fully appreciate the vagaries of the weather at this time of year. However, there have been times over the years when it has been possible to use outdoor space. It would have been difficult here. The TV is Apple TV and assumes that you have an apple account. It was difficult to work. A up-to-date folder containing information about the property and local services would have been really useful. We live in a 300 year old cottage and would not have been put off booking Tulloch by a description of quirky and old fashioned ( I eventually found this when looking for the information regarding the heating). However we would have reconsidered if we had known about the heating, especially as we travel at this time of year.
