The Curlews - Waterside, boutique home with 10 person spa

The location was good and the views were great. The jacuzzi was great but that was it. Everything else was very poor.

The property was unsafe, unclean and run down. The management and owners will try to convince you otherwise and may even reply to this review but you have been warned. No railings up the steps and rats coming out of the dishwasher are just some examples of how bad this place is. There is green slime growing in the bathroom. The "bath sheets" were only big enough to be used for the face! It is most certainly not luxury!!

Absolutely stunning views everywhere you go in the house, stunning facilities all round, beautiful hot tub , fantastic balcony space - sensational all round.

The driveway is very steep but we got used to it. The property could have been a little cleaner in places.

Very comfortable to live in. We were 10 adults and a baby and we did not trip over each other, so a good size for a large party.

Parking was tight, but we did have 5 cars! We walked to Teignmouth, Shaldon and Bishopsteignton for pub meals and the roads were busier than I was expecting them to be..

The place was not as clean as expected. The cleaners had not been in and the property was not prepped for our arrival. The cleaning team did arrive the following day at 10am but were surprised to see us at the property so did not come in. We spent an hour or so upon arrival cleaning and tidying the outside area and hot tub so we could use it. The driveway and steps leading up to the property are very steep and our older guest really struggled.

Lots of levels and very steep stairs to entrance, so I would be mindful with young children. We did however expect this so not a negative. You'll need energy unpacking from the car to the house. The road leading to the property is very steep but no problem for our suv. I enjoyed it but my wife was very daunted by it. Although the main sofa indoors was clean, the cushions in the viewing room and outdoor seating were heavily stained. Although main garden was well maintained, I needed to clean the main seating areas.This had plenty of foliage, established cobwebs, bugs e.t.c. it only needed one clean and didn't need to do it for the rest of our stay. On removing the hydropool cover, ants and a few bugs had accumulated on the edges so maybe the seal had not been tight all around. Had to do some more cleaning and after this it was fabulous and enjoyable. It would have made a big difference to have had the immediate outdoor seating areas and hydropool to have been cleaned prior to our arrival.
