Very spacious house with large enclosed garden that is good for children.

This is a gorgeous old property! We had the most amazing time staying as a large group for a 30th birthday weekend! The property is quirky and has loads of character. We had organised a game of traitors and it was perfect for this! The property is rustic and quite eclectic but has some amazing old furniture and gorgeous rugs all over the property. The bedrooms are huge and it is very comfortable for a large group. Although there are only 2 bathrooms, this wasn't an issue as we all came prepared. The showers were warm and the bathrooms very clean. The garden is amazing and if you are lucky enough to get good weather, it is absolutely brilliant. The location is also fab and a 2 minute walk to a lovely pub. For a fun and quirky stay with a large group, I could not recommend this place enough.

Honestly I have very few criticisms of the place. If you go and expect it to be quirky and rustic then you will have a great time.

The building was incredible, lovely big house with more than enough space for our large family to celebrate easter altogether. The fact we could bring our dog too was brilliant. The house has amazing history and we loved that it still had an old style to it and a lot of character. We would love to come back and the location was great!

We had an issue with the heating and hot water. John provided us with electric heaters to help with this and this helped. Didn't put a dampener on the weekend though!

A huge, old house, clean comfy beds, huge living room, easy to find, nice pub in the village. Charming and quirky house with big garden.

Not enough towels. One of the shutters in the lounge needs to be fixed asap as it's hanging off. Fire extinguishers need to be serviced. Only half of the toaster works. Cooker doesn't work well. On the day we were cooking our family christmas dinner, it wouldn't come up to temperature no matter what setting we used. Also, the countertop fridge turned out to be a freezer, with no indication that it was a freezer. We put the meat, prawns, and turkey into it overnight and ended up with a frozen turkey....ruined our plans for dinner, as did the not funtioning cooker. Sorry about the negatives, some were just small things. However, the planned dinner was only saved by wine and a family atmosphere.

Keys were easy to collect but the house was in disrepair and frankly should not be rented out. Electrics looked very old and a worry. Beds were awful, there were loads of doors and rooms locked off. Genuinely an awful place.

Spacious - a big sitting room with comfy seating for everyone, and a good sized kitchen with a big table. Bedrooms were a good size too.

Like any old building, the property has some quirks. They didn’t bother us, but it probably won’t suit anyone who is looking for a modern style property.
