The Woodland Lodge - Wood Fired Hot Tub and Firepit

The location was great, although it backed onto a road it was really peaceful. The main selling point here is of course the wood fired hot tub and it did not disappoint. You get to light the fire yourself if you're into that kind of thing and after a couple of hours its ready! Couple hours more and it's pretty hot almost unbearable but nothing damaging - particularly nice when you sit out of it after being in for some time. The lodge itself was decorated really nicely and well kept. Bed was extremely comfy and could've slept longer but we sadly had to check out. Would definitely stay again.

There was nothing really. There were a few critters inside but this is expected in the rural area and also because the windows are left open before check in to ventilate but I understand that is needed so not a complaint.

Out door space was great, with a gated fence being a bonus. Hot tub was partially warm on arrival so did not take long to heat up. Beds were comfortable and lodge was spacious. The farm animals; including piglets, on site were a big hit with the children along with the play area in the woods. Fresh towels were left on our beds. Added little extras of tea bags, coffee, washing up liquid and salt and pepper. Hot tub was easy to use and Netflix available in front room. Good wifi access available.

Did not see one member of staff. We rang for a key code and were told they were away. Another group on site were very loud with music playing to early hour with a lot of shouting.Couch in front room could do a clean too.

I liked it was quiet and away from city

Bathroom shower was leaking water on floor, in "kids" room on ceiling in corner mould was coming out. Hot tube was nice adding to place.

The wood fired hot tub was very quick to heat and we enjoyed using this. The lodge was clean and there were useful pots and pans in the kitchen.

The mattress in the double room was extremely creaky and lumpy. It wasnt particularly uncomfortable but the loud creaking disturbed the night sleep. The outdoor furniture cushions were damp and mouldy so unusable. It would have been nice to have salt and pepper available in the kitchen.
