The location of the cottage was perfect for us. We were able to walk into town to purchase groceries and other supplies needed, and it was central to the areas we wanted to explore and visit. The park land around the area was beautiful and a nice area to walk and "chill out". The council car park next door made parking out vehicle easier as the lane behind the cottage is quite narrow and parking can be a bit tricky. Our host Steph was lovely, easy to contact and very helpful. We had issues with our hire vehicle on the morning we were to check out and after contacting her, she was kind enough to let us stay at the cottage a bit later until our vehicle was right to drive again.

The parking was a bit tricky due to the laneway being very narrow, but there is a council parking lot next door.

Clean and very central

It didn’t mention the toilet and shower downstairs and when showering lots of water ended up on the wooden floor next to the shower. It would’ve been good to let clients know that there was no toilet or bathroom upstairs, especially for anyone struggling with mobility. Windows have never been cleaned outside and the front garden was overgrown, a neighbour was seen cutting some of the greenery on the pass outside at the front of the house. The swivel mirror in the bathroom on a stand didn’t work it would only stay on magnifying. Both diffusers had no liquid in them. The information folder needs updating as there were no emergency exit details behind the bedroom doors which are mentioned in the Information folder. The outside bins were full when we arrived. It would’ve been good to have a small folding table to eat at instead of a tray on your knee. The house was much darker than the photos.

The location.

The private parking was very narrow and required the car to be almost touching a wall on one side. However, there was public parking nearby. There was no dining table, only a coffee table. The bedrooms were upstairs but the bathroom and toilet were downstairs which is not ideal for an elderly couple.

Amazing location, duck & heron cottage is a lovely 2 bed property all amenities were good an the welcome package was a lovely thought, we will return as enjoyed our stay thankyou.

Let people know bathroom is on ground floor away from bedroom
