Causeway Cottage

Location is fantastic. Perfect snug for a couple. Bed was lovely and comfortable.

Key safe is a little fiddly.

The cottage was clean and well equipped. The bed was comfy.

The windows at the back opened out to the dog friendly pub garden so in order to have fresh air we also had the noise and cigarette smoke. The front windows opened on to the road.

Accomodation willing to take dogs for an extra charge although we didn’t take ours in the end. Good sized deep bath Underfloor heating downstairs

Needs better management-2 light bulbs not working Clock on living room wall needed battery replacing Shower head too high for height of shower screen water escaped all over bathroom floor when used by a tall person Extractor fan in bathroom not working plus as bathroom backs onto noisy pub beer garden couldn’t open window while in bathroom Wasn’t identified that cottage was attached to pub and sited on a 3 way junction which meant it was very noisy. WiFi dreadful couldn’t open any apps or use WiFi calling on my phone General level of cleanliness could be improved: blinds and extractor fan very dusty, cups had tea stains. Painted furniture in bedroom was tired and dressing table surface dirty. Ceiling lighting in main room which includes kitchen is outdated inadequate and depressing- felt like hospital corridor lighting 3 white bulbs and one yellow one Would benefit from curtains in addition to blinds in main room particularly across the front door.

The location in Cartmel was excellent.

The lighting downstairs and the lock on the front door could be improved but these were very minor issues. What I did not like however was the lack of a handrail on the open side of the staircase.

Great location within walking distance of everything Cartmel has to offer.

Lovely cottage in a lovely village

Location to the village, small supermarket and sandwich shop.

Being kept awake till 2am with folks leaving the adjoining pub on the Friday night.

Lovely and clean. Kitchen well equipped. Handy location to walk to village. Well stocked shop nearby which was handy. Good shower. Lovely big bath.

Internet connection very poor, so smart tv buffered all the time. Traffic noise and noise from beer garden in pub was not good at all. Couldn't park outside except to unload. Parking was 200 yards away at the school. No outside seating area except pub garden. Had to make calls to get check in instructions as they weren't sent. Furniture bulky e.g. 4 dining chairs when house only sleeps 2 meant space reduced and feeling overcrowded.
