Unlimited heating once we had rung someone to find out how to operate it

On entering were stifled by the copious amount of toxic scented plugins...we had to remove them and open all doors to gain fresh air.What are they hiding? Where are the instructions for operating tv and heating?We dropped our bags and spent ages attempting to work it out....who needs that when you arrive after a long journey? We had to ring for help for operating both... Why is there NO mention that the only toilet is downstairs? This would deter lots of people...older and younger particularly...especially as the staircase is dangerous because the grabrail on the top 5 stairs has been PLASTERED into the wall.. rendering it useless...is this even legal?...to negotiate these stairs when wide awake is challenging but in a half asleep state is downright dangerous! We were going to use the front bedroom and unpacked in there...but as it got darker and colder the wind blowing in the front window that is firmly wedged open by a couple of inches and won't close drove us into the other bedroom...all in all a very problematic first evening...most of which could have been avoided by the provision of written information. The blowflies were the final straw!...sleepily crawling on our faces as we slept...everywhere you went there they were...the filthy things were on everything and it all seemed very unsavoury. It was a relief to get home...

The cottage was surprisingly spacious, cosy and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable too, garden was a good size with an outside light for late night bathroom trips for puppas. Spoke with the host on the phone at the end of my trip due to leaving something behind, hosts were lovely and more than happy to help. I will be staying again! Diolcb o galon!

The cottage was beautiful, so homely, cosy and just what we needed and wanted! The canal walk was perfect for our dog and the property was perfect for us as a family with a 9 month old and a dog. Even on a rainy day, it would be a lovely place to snuggle up and have a snug day in! Loved the bath for a soak and the bubbles and chocolate on arrival was just so thoughtful!

The only issue was the slight smell of damp throughout the property but that is to be expected from an older property. Our only other issue was some of the doors were very hard to open (Front door, kitchen door and master bedroom) which caused us a slight panic to begin with but I promise, they do open with a bit of force!

A very dog friendly property and exactly as described. There was a small secure back garden and the front door was withing metres of the canal which was great to take the dog for his walk. This owners were thoughtful and considerate and there was everything we needed and more besides.This was a home from home

Pros: Location - For us, perfect. Comfort - Beds/Sofa all comfortable. Neighbourhood - Quiet residential terrace. Next to canal Will definitely be back, ticked a lot of boxes.

Slight awareness; Front bedroom - Low bed although perfectly comfortable. Location - Property is quite a long way from Cwmbran town centre if traveling on foot. Would recommend traveling by car.

Great location, quiet with nice walks. A good base to explore Wales.

The sky light in the bathroom couldn't be opened so condensation collected and dripped onto floor. This could easily be remedied by leaving the pole to open it. The cottage was a bit grubby in places, e.g. windows, edges of surfaces in kitchen and bathroom. Hot water was sporadic but an information leaflet may have helped us with this.
