The Bird House at Woodburn Cottage

Lovely quiet accommodation, great location and facilities. Nicely decorated and had everything we needed for 2 nights. Friendly owners and happy for us to use the wider garden for our dog who enjoyed a nose around! During our stay we visited Flatford Mill, Walton-on-the Naze and Frinton on Sea

We loved the peace & quiet, great location to visit Flatford, Dedham & lots of beautiful old villages. Jimmy is very quick to respond to any messages, he gave us good tips on where to eat. There was complementary tea, coffee, milk & even some fruit. Some garden flowers were left on the kitchen table, a real homely touch. The garden area was a pleasure to sit in. Loved the bird theme within the cottage. We had a very pleasant stay & thoroughly recommend a stay at the Bird House.

A wonderful location with a very welcoming host - thanks Jimmy! The setting is very peaceful and has great access to Dedham. We had everything we need needed and really enjoyed our stay! Great for our dog too!

We were fortunate to have very warm weather but the only minor challenge with this was the temperature on the building due to its fantastic insulation and sun facing windows. We found the fan provided was useful!

Self catering. Location perfect for my gardening training day at the wonderful Beth Chatto garden (not mentioned in your Places to Visit). Bed had very comfy mattress, but standard double bed was rather small. Loved the themed bird house pictures etc. and setting of the Bird House. Appreciated the bluebells and lilac picked for us.

We had a dog with us and we found the road immediately outside very busy especially around 9am and 5pm when we wanted to go for a walk. It is a road with houses either side and within a 30mph limit so I cannot understand why there is no pavement. We dodged onto the verges as necessary but some motorists were not very courteous despite latest Highway Code rules. Hot water was a bit hit and miss.
