Tranquil Sands Holiday Home

Great location and facilities, well appointed and spacious home with a good vibe and comfortable fittings. Kitchen is great for self catering and fully fenced garden makes taking a pet very easy. Incredible local beaches and wildlife. Would go to Uist again

Unfortunately the housekeeper on the final day was surly and impatient. Considering the ferry times to leave the island and it's very isolated location a 10am leave time left us with nothing to do on the island and we felt rushed out and the interaction with said housekeeper left a bad taste in the mouth. Getting up on holiday of at the crack of dawn to leave a large house in a presentable condition with all the trimmings of a rural setting (packing the car, cleaning all the wellies and sweeping the house) meant the last few hours were stressful and annoying.

Tranquil Sands was even more impressive than what was written. Like most, I read the reviews and so many good reviews, no bad comments... I couldn't believe it. We arrived and I'm now a believer. The hosts are amazing, giving us ideas of places to visit before, the place was spotless and extremely well equipped and a well stocked kitchen. Everything you could possibly need was there. Not only that it was in really good condition too. The quality of things provided is exceptional. Mark (the host) was great for ad hock things and getting back to you quickly. The property is in a beautiful location. If you're lucky/unlucky to be there when a storm blows through like us, the quality of the glazing means the outside stays out, we had fantastic night sleep through all but the heaviest of hail. The living room is a place you can unwind and relax. The reclining chairs are so comfy, it can be dangerous if you're tired, you could lose hours in them. Check out the well put together welcome brochure on the writing table in the living room, it has everything you need. So believe it when you see it the 10 out of 10 is real (I should know I have never given 10 out of 10 before).

Really great big windows with lots of light, comfortable beds, powerful shower and loads of board games in garage. Everything anyone would ever need for cooking utensils too.

The hosts were really really lovely, and so this isn’t a don’t like- more a suggestion. I think if you are going to say you have a coffee machine as a facility, you should say that there won’t be coffee provided, as it may have been an unfair assumption, but one that I’d have nonetheless.

Lovely modern property. Well appointed and well equipped. Very comfortable stay for a group of 4. Ideally located for exploration. Easy beach access and close to local shops.

The location was perfect for the beach and country walks. The property itself was impeccable with no issues whatsoever. Although it was windy outside, the windows and insulation kept the property warm with no noise from outside. Couldn’t ask for anymore.

There was nothing to not like. Everything was clean, tidy and excellent standards throughout.

The cottage was beautiful. We were staying there as we were working at Lochmaddy. Unfortunately, due to the weather we got stranded on the Island, luckily there had been a cancellation and we could stay on at the cottage.
