great location, easy access, clean, plenty of space

took us a while and asking for help to get the heat to work, was pretty chilly until then, but totally livable

The radiators were off and the house was as cold as it was outside. we got in late because of a traffic issue and the house was still so cold that we slept in our clothes, jackets, hats and gloves. by the morning it was comfortable in clothes. no blow dryer, shampoo/conditioner/ soap for shower, napkins or paper towel.

Excellent facilities right in the centre of Dufftown

The location was perfect in center of Dufftown.

The shower was a bit difficult to get right. Also I would add to there are only few restaurants in the area and book up fast. Here are some of our favourites..... We suggest you book in advance The highlander inn, The Station hotel and the mash tun. We wanted to go to the Seven stills but they where closed during our stay.

Mortlach Cottage was absolutely perfect for 4 guys needing a home base for our Speyside whisky tour. Everything was clean and orderly, and the washer/dryer was an added (and much needed!) bonus. The location is great too—1 to 15 miles from dozens of distilleries, 3 blocks from a grocery store, 2 blocks from a very friendly local pub (The Commercial) and a typically delicious Indian restaurant (Spice of India). It goes without saying that it’s not the Ritz-Carlton, but it fit our needs perfectly. I’d recommend Mortlach Cottage to anyone visiting Speyside.
