Black Moorhen Lodge with Hot Tub

The modern interior. Hot tub was great. Lovely spacious accommodation.

Love the accomodation and area and the hot tub is a beautiful addition nice easy journey with park and ride into York

Less crockery this time had to go out and buy a tin opener and scissors also had to buy dishwasher tablets wish they would leave a few out for us as we do not have a dishwasher at home so wouldn't have use for them even if they sold them at the clubhouse singular would be helpful

The property was well equipped and specious for our multigenerational stay. We would definitely book again and recommend to others.

There was nothing to complain about, the only minor thing would be the bathroom fans stayed on for a very prolonged period after the bathroom lights were turned off. This caused some disruption to sleep.

Really lovely cabin and really exceeded our expectations with how spacious and modern it was! We loved that the lodge was decorated for Christmas with decorations, lights and even a tree!

On the first night we had no heating all night and the next morning, considering the weather this weekend we were absolutely freezing! The reception shut early and the “emergency” phone number shut at 8pm so we received no help! The next day we got the maintenance man to come out and it was the fault of a member of staff for not turning off the valve for the hot tub and therefor it was on all night, sucking all the power from the boiler therefore leaving us with no heating and an overfilling hot tub! Another note is that the roads were really icy with no grit at all apart from outside the restaurant! This was very difficult to walk down from our lodge as we had to walk on the road with no grit and not much lighting, with one of us being pregnant it was especially scary for her incase she slipped over which she nearly did a few times. The signs said keep off the grass but there were not footpaths or short cuts for us to go down, we also considered the cars driving past us might slip and run into us which we had to keep stopping for just incase.

Could have been cleaner very dusty under the couch we dropped something got down to look we found 3 toys so proves it doesn't get cleaned under there also no mattresses or pillow protection on bedding also welcome pack very poor every place we stay leaves at least a pint of milk in the fridge

Could have had a few more essentials like a bottle of milk, more toilet rolls & tea towels.

Spacious for four people. Hot tub. Location and pleasant outlook from balcony.

Lack of instruction for oven and central heating including towel rails.
