Old Station House - Kilfillan Cottage

The location was perfect. So easy to explore Wigtownshire, which is really a forgotten yet beautiful part of Scotland. Great fun staying in an old station.

a very minor point, perhaps the cottage could have had a wee bit more info on, or pictures of, the old railway.

The cottage was superb. Had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable too. Lovely view from living room and so peaceful. We were out every day as weather was great. Hoping to go back next year.

Just a small point, maybe a hand rail in the shower could be installed.

We found the cottage to be a little bit remote and would have preferred to be a bit closer to amenities.

The cottage is perfect for a couple or family and had everything we could ask for. The sitting room has a lovely wood burner and was very cosy in the evening. The bathroom is modern and fresh and the whole place was spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable and the linens of great quality. The enclosed garden was perfect for our dogs and the planting around the cottage is beautiful. The immediate area is idyllic with wonderful views and we wish we could wake to that view every morning! Milk in the fridge, fresh flowers and home baked brownies were waiting for us and made us feel very welcome.
