The setting itself was peaceful.

The property was not as described and did not meet basic standards of cleanliness, safety or maintenance. We specifically paid more for a caravan with a loch view, however there was no view at all and it faced other caravans. There was also no direct access path to the loch as suggested. Access to the site was extremely poor and not disclosed, involving several miles of single-track dirt road with large potholes and flooding. The caravan itself had a strong unpleasant odour and felt damp throughout. The carpets were visibly wet and remained damp overnight, and there were dehumidifiers under the bed, suggesting ongoing damp issues. This was particularly concerning as one member of our group has COPD and could not use the bedroom. Cleanliness was unacceptable. Kitchen utensils, cutlery and cooking equipment were greasy and appeared unwashed. We had to clean everything before use. The outdoor picnic table was also dirty and unusable. There were also safety concerns. The decking and steps were extremely slippery and caused a fall and injury. There appeared to be no fire alarm in the property, and lighting around the site was poor, making it unsafe to move around at night. The caravan was advertised for up to six people, however seating was inadequate, with only a small two-seater sofa and an unusable low futon. We were unable to contact any staff during our stay and there was no on-site support available at any point. Overall, the property was misrepresented and not fit for purpose. We are currently in an ongoing dispute regarding this stay.

The location was very good, there were lots of lovely walks nearby once you got out of the caravan site. The caravan was clean inside and had what looked like new carpets. The furniture was good apart from one two seater wooden thing.

The caravan site was very run down with the slight exception of the first row of more modern caravans. There were caravans that were very old and delapetated, there was even one that was abandoned with smashed windows and rubbish all around it. There was the remains of a castle which did look lovely but this was spoild by all the over flowing bins at the back of it and a very shabby caravan. Our caravan, although very old was clean, however, there was a large stain on the lino in the kitchen and rust all over the front of the freezer. The double bed was very uncomfortable, with springs digging into you. There was only one couch and then there was a very uncomfortable wooden two seater thing with a thin cushion which was at floor height, so getting on and off was very difficult. The wallpaper in the caravan was poorly painted, it looked like it had been started then forgotten about. Several of plates were chipped, the cutlery was dirty on arrival, I had to wash it all before use and the 'sharp' knives were all blunt. Someone had switched the freezer off, so it was very smelly when I opened it with water in the trays all of which I had to clean. As the nearest shop is about 8 miles away, I imagine most people would bring frozen food, so getting it into the freezer after your jouney is a must.

Everything was clean and beautiful. They even decorated the caravan for us and turned on the fireplace in advance for our Christmas arrival. After that, another surprise awaited us: they offered us a Christmas tree and gave us two bags of decorations for it. It was magical, cozy, and comfortable. Great location. You can walk. There is a beach, mountains, forest.

For some reason, there was no water in the evenings. At first, it was a very thin, cold stream. And then there was no water at all. The owners said: "the water is currently going through the purification system. It will be back on shortly. Sorry for any inconvenience."but this did not affect our impression in any way.
