I wanted to contact you to let you know how disappointed I was with the condition of the cottage. The pictures on the website unfortunately don’t actually match the state of the cottage. There were 6 of us in our party , 4 of us were surprising & treating 2 as a thank you gesture. As a group we stay at various places around the country, but this cottage was the worst by far ! On Friday driving conditions were so difficult ( I know that’s not your fault) it was dense fog & rain as it’s 4pm check in this time of year it’s darker anyways , we struggled to find the Accomadation it could benefit with details on the side which looks out onto the main road . We brought some logs for the open fire and lit it , well that was a BIG mistake the whole cottage filled up with dense smoke we were all stinking of the smell and had to open the front & back door & window for some time , so obviously we had to sit there shivering and try and put the fire out safely !! Not a good start to our visit . The couple we were treating had the largest room with an en-suite . They unpacked their toiletries etc and left their toiletrie bags on the windowsill they saw an empty clear jug and moved it , the next morning their bags & some items were wet and the windowsill , obviously there was a leak hence the jug ! This is unacceptable! We should have been informed not to move the jug , I was so embarrassed as it was me who found the cottage I have attached 2 pictures of the jug and the disgusting condition of the paintwork which was the same in the twin bed room. Onto the main bathroom the fan in there was sooo loud you couldn’t sit in the bath as you’d end up with a headache whenever my husband or I went to the toilet during the night we couldn’t put the light on as the fan would wake the others up so we had to use the toilet which is directly opposite the entrance leaving the door open so the landing light could shine in I was so uncomfortable !!!!!!

Fantastic location, just a short walk to Bakewell centre.

We were very unlucky with the weather - some board games or puzzles would have been useful!

"Lovely little break away in a cosy little cottage."

8.0

Lovely little cottage, with good amenities nearby and it was cosy and warm. Lovely touch with the Prosecco and box of heroes!

We all said the beds were really uncomfortable. This was the only negative about the whole property.

"Excellent location and comfortable cottage"

10.0

We liked the location and it is a very comfortable cottage.

The garden isn't secure which meant that the dogs had to be on their leads when they went out there but that was mentioned when we book so we were prepared.

"Nice place, nice furnishings but needs some attention and little extras."

7.0

Location is right across the way from the town centre car park, virtually on the doorstep of Bakewell centre. well stocked crockery items and dishwasher was a bonus nice decor in the indoor living room Good configuration of beds.

The plumbing in the middle bathroom is not good as the flush water comes up to high then doesn't flush anything down, and the twin room ensuite, the shower water doesnt trikle down the plug hole till half an hour after a shower. I think to many bathrooms for a small listed building as the outdoor area that we sat in had dirty drains and not been maintained. I feel For the price it was missing some basic essentials like shower gel, kitchen roll, milk, biscuits. Not clear at first if we could sit outside of the door on the furniture as it faced the next door kitchen window so no privacy also we had noisy guests on the first night who had music blaring out till the early hours in the morning.
