Beautiful cottage and surroundings. Clean. Well equipped. Met Edith, who was lovely.

Very hot weekend so asked for a fan, but no response :( I don't mind the lack of fan, but a response to my message would have been nice! I used the mobile number in the welcome board, perhaps this is outdated? Overall though, this was an extremely small issue. The pros far far far outweigh the cons.

Brilliant location, literally the best stay experience we've had. The lodge is located at the foot of a hill on a private estate, and there is no one else around for miles. Yet, its homely, well set-up and well furnished to make sure you have a super comfortable stay. The hosts also stay on the lodge in a different building and are always at hand to answer any questions, so you always feel safe. And our house was really tastefully decorated and well equipped. Absolute winner of a property, kudos to the hosts!

The only thing we felt missing was on-premise food options - the nearest town to the lodge is a 15-20 minute drive away, and the shops there shut by 6-7 PM, so if you're arriving late, make sure to pack a dinner and some breakfast supplies. The kitchen itself is well equipped with all the appliances needed for a comfortable short stay.
