Rie's Retreat - The Whole House

This is the fourth time I have used Rie‘s house to host a retreat. I love it and so do my groups. The closeness to town, Rie‘s sunny smile and good humor along with her fantastic cooking are just some of the highlights. The cosy rooms and the beautiful garden make it a great place to stay and enjoy the magic of Avalon.

Location is superb - just a short walk to the high street. House has all facilities you could need - kitchen is large and well equipped; bathrooms are great; everywhere is very clean. Housekeeper popped in to say hi and check we were all ok; Rie sent messages to make sure we were all happy.

Really can't think of anything negative to say!

Lovely comfortable house, lots of thoughtful touches. Great breakfast hamper. Owner really helpful, nothing too much trouble.

Beautiful spacious and well laid out house in a great location, but what was especially special was the personal touches by Rie - she is super-responsive, kind and patient, and goes all out to ensure that her guests are comfortable and well catered for. We loved the breakfast!

Nothing, it was all great and we were sad to leave! (We stay in many hotels and apartments on our travels and not many make us feel this way!)

It was all so comfy and spacious. A truly lovely home from home with everything we needed for a very enjoyable weekend. I especially liked the sunny conservatory and lovely touches such as flagons of water from the holy wells and a basket of slippers. The house was decorated and furnished beautifully and the garden is pretty too. Would definitely recommend and we hope to stay there again in the future!

The doorway between the reading room and the conservatory has a raised trip hazard and care should be taken.

lovely atmosphere, comfortable and well equipped

Everything was carefully thought out - the host had thought through what we might need and made sure it was there. The house was bigger than expected and lots of room for us all. Location was splendid with only a short walk to the high street.

Nothing! It was all excellent.

We had a lovely time at Rie’s house. My family used it as an anchor for exploring other towns and also as a refuge for feeling at home. Rie was always quick to reply and very kind. All the breakfast ammenities included were very convenient. The whole house has kindness in its details.
