"A Warm Welcome Awaits"

10.0

Riber Hall Manor is a beautiful and historic house which has been lovingly restored. Parts of the house date back to the 14th century and the room we stayed in dated back to the 17th century. The views are stunning and the room we had was roomy and comfortable. Our host, Alison, was very friendly and looked after us well during our stay. We would definitely stay again.

"A great experience of the the history and rural delights of Derbyshire."

10.0

From the very warm welcome to the breakfast next day, Alison was exceptional. The place is wonderfully historic and the setting and views are breathtaking. The Wifi was good and the combination of modern facilities and a wealth of architecturally enjoyable assets made this a great stopover in Derbyshire.

The stairs are not for everyone but the experience of climbing the ancient wooden stairway is well worth the effort.

"A charming and quirky spot, perfect for couples!"

9.0

This house was very charming and quirky and the host Alison was lovely. The location was unique as you had a whole view down over matlock and the next morning I got to go for a wonder and have a look. - The room was nice and warm, and the exposed beams and unique furnishings were very nice! - The sheets were SO soft and the pillows and bed were nice and comfortable. - The bathroom was lovely amd clean and nice and warm. - I loved the original doors!! So unique! - Better suited to couples, a nice romantic spot :) Breakfast was simple but very nice and all that you need, and I thoroughly enjoyed the story of the history of the house and the time Alison took to tell me about it. You can tell she is very passionate. I appreciate that this is a family home, but I felt disappointed that I couldn't see much of the rest of the house. I think given the uniqueness of the home, it would have been fascinating to see. All I saw was one of the dining rooms, the stairs case (which the host said was originally and it certainly looked it so which was cool!), a lot of closed doors, and then my room/bathroom. I am inquisitive in nature so i would have loved to see more. But i understand that this is Alison and her husbands private home so it does not change my experience or rating of the property. I couldn't get the walled garden door open at the end of my visit which was disappointing. (I decided not to go and bother Alison about it as she had other guests).

- Parking... there isn't really parking and if the spots are taken on the street, you wouldn't be able to park close by - I knew i wouldn't be able to take my heavy, large suitcase upstairs because of the stairs (i didn't want to accidentally ruin them and it would have been impossible to get it up there!), so i took what i needed out of it and took a small bag up with me. I felt uncomfortable leaving my personal items in the car.

"Alison is a wonderful host & the Manor is stunning. We will definitely be returning."

10.0

Alison was a fantastic host, very friendly & helpful. She was really informative about the local surroundings & guided us to some fantastic walks with stunning views. The room itself was beautiful & the photos dont really do them justice. Very spacious & extremely clean. Breakfast was lovely, made all the more better by the stunning room we dined in. Everything about our exceeded expectations & more. We will most definitely be coming back, Thank you Alison

Nothing, everything was perfect.
