Mountain View

Our host was so attentive to our needs , the location was central to everything, the house was spotless clean with private car parking . Because it was Christmas our host ,Helen , left lots of little Christmas touches throughout the house which was very thoughtful and kind of her.

Absolutely the cleanest place we stayed the entire trip. Everything was scrubbed to the nth degree. The host was outstanding, as were her communications. The place is very well equipped, safe, and has a great kitchen. Good wifi and smart TV. There is a bit of street noise until 10 pm or so, but it is quiet after that. What a lot of people will like is the location, since it is just a block off the main streets of Newcastle and is near the beach. Also, just a short walk to the trailhead for Slieve Donard, Newcastle's spectacular mountain. A great private parking spot right at the front door.

What is not disclosed in the property description is that the bedrooms are upstairs, and we generally avoid having to climb stairs rental properties, especially those with carpet and are pretty narrow. This needs to be clear in the Booking.com description. Also, the description implies that the property is a stand alone house. But, it is attached to an adjoining property on one side, which also seems to be a rental property. Despite this, it was pretty quiet.

Besides the location being perfect, just a few minutes walk to beach, restaurants, shops etc yet quietly located in a residential area. Helena was an outstanding host.. her attention to detail and welcome pack was exceptional. No rushing to shops to get bread, milk and those little toiletries we all forget to pack, everything was waiting for us. Helena contacted us before arrival to check which type of bed cover our little boy would like! Sounds trivial but to the parents of a special Needs child who’s never slept in a bed alone this was priceless, huge success as he slept there all night. Not to mention the balloons and banners for his birthday.. Helena took the stress and anxiety away so that our trip went smoothly and that’s exactly what happened. Thanks so much we will definitely be back. X

This is not the first time I have stayed in Mountain View and I love the house. There is a large back garden with a patio area, fast Wi-Fi and all the other creature comforts you could ask for. The owner (Helena) is very friendly and leaves you a little welcome basket of goods for your arrival (bread, milk, buns and other treats). The location is first class, just 100yds or less to the main promenade with all the restaurants and shops etc. The house is lays immaculately presented and Helena is easy to contact should you ever need her advice or recommendations. I will be coming here again as myself and my son love it here.

The only thing that would be better is to make more than 24hrs in a day so my stay would be longer!!

The property was clean and family friendly they went above and beyond for us leaving a welcome basket and toys for kids would 100% stay again

Helena was a wonderful host and the house was stunning. We were staying with our 2 kids for their birthdays and she had birthday banners up for them when we arrived. Not to mention all the little extras around the house. Would highly recommend Mountain View, we will definitely be back - thank you Helena
