"Didn't stay in arranged property"

Even though we didn't stay at the property. The property owner Debbie managed to find us another suitable property to stay in. Thankfully she found us one after 4 hours travel as otherwise we would have had to have a refund. The new property was 2 miles from where we were meant to be staying and was a lovely house. Debbie saved our holiday.

When we arrived at the property it was a compete disaster. The property had not been cleaned and was in such a state from the previous visitors that it was simply disgusting. In one of the windows instead of a curtain there was a striped towel for some apparent reason and there was just trash strewn around, it was a complete tip. I was told that Booking. Com should have emailed us regarding the property, as it was not ready for us to stay at. I never received this email and we happily traveled the 4 hours for our holiday thinking none the wiser. I'm very disappointed in booking. Com and it has made me second guess booking through them again, due to their terrible communication.

The location is excellent. Fans provided in both bedrooms which was great as the weather was exceptionally hot during our stay.
