Nothing

A landscape that would struggle to be any more picturesque - woods with red squirrels (we came face-to-face with one!), the Abbey with its bells and pigs and calm reflection, ancient ruins next door (which the farmhouse is partly built from), very tasty blackberries, ships on the Solent in the distance. A house that is an example of how to do a property - high quality renovation, met at the door with keys and a tour from the housekeeper, a lovely garden, all beautifully clean with all the amenities, good information and leaflets. Access to the rest of the Isle of Wight - buses every 10 minutes in the daytime, Appley beach is lovely (though don't go at low tide if you want to swim!), Osbourne House is amazing, Fishbourne is really nice. Near on perfect.

Mosquitoes! We went after a fair bit of wet and warm weather so mozzies were common and they are a pain (literally). Keep doors shut and if you have repellents etc then they are advised. The WiFi isn't the fastest but much better to switch off and enjoy :)

Incredible house and location

Breakfast is not included but the welcome hamper from the farm makes a sufficient simple breakfast and is very much appreciated .

Tourists think the house is open to public

The getaway farmhouse was just lovely. Two wonderful wood burning fireplaces, wonderfully equipped kitchen, dog friendly, beautiful walks out your doorstep, pub within short walk, Fishbourne and Ryde walks accessible and peace, quiet and beautiful scenery made this long weekend spot on the top of our list. The Abbey is right up they way with a wonderful little cafe and farm shop. Ideal place for a couple or small family. One bathroom upstairs, in one of the bedrooms, so would need to be shared or go downstairs to second bathroom. Water pressure for showering was amazing.
