"Perfect stay!"

Perfect stay!! Very pretty cottage, great location (10 mins walk from the centre). The ground floor has a well appointed kitchen and a very nice living room with a smart TV. The first floor had 2 nice decent sized rooms and a common toilet. Everything was kept neat and clean.

Perfect for a stopover to see Haworth. Dog loved Central Park. Well equipped and although dubious about how comfy the mattress would be, we both slept really well!

and when i booked i had no intention whatsoever of cancelling the booking this is why the free cancellation at the time he is saying , i didnt think that option was on there but im not fully sure of that. But for future i will always use this option if it is there. Iv never had to cancel before only during covid and the hosts where wonderful had issues whatsoever. I found nigel throughtout this phone call to be very arrogant and condescending and i was so disappointed, i spoke to him said about how i was and told him how bad i was feeling which again i said wasnt your fault but asked him could we come to some mutual agreement  that would suit both, but his reponse was why should i be out of pocket i have said il give you the cleaning fee back of £42 which meant losing £296 and to anybody thats a lot of money to lose, i understood what he was saying and i said can we arrange dates again he said no why should i lose out for you being ill. He wouldnt  even say yes if i gave him a nights cancellation fee, he just was saying claim it on your inurance, to which i dont  know about others i dont have uk insurance when im only goin 1hour and 40 minutes away. Only for abroad iv never had it. He was very insulting stating its not my fault you have lack of knowledge in having uk insurance and its me that should take reponsibility for myself and not to blame him. Everthing i asked he said  no then went onto to say to me what he will dofor me is if i was to go on booking.com cancel the booking and he will see what he will give me back only if the cottage got booked. So the telephone ended with him saying let me know what your doing and i hope you get well, i replied i feel i have no choice but to travel as that amount of money is too much for anybody to lose. He was happy to keep £296 of my money i just couldnt believe it. I found nigel to be completely unreasonable with no consideration for the situation and to come to some agreement. Unfortunately i feel im having to leave this not so favourable review its based on the host of the property nigel and not the cottage itself as there was only a couple of things regarding the cottage, not enough mirrors upstairs, when we got there all the cartons of milk in the fridge had leaked small things wasnt a problem just cleaned it up, downstairs tap was also very loose. Also the fridge is on the small side so just a suggestion more mirrors and maybe a bit of a bigger fridge freezer. I booked on this on 05/08/23 for dates 07/08/23-10/08/23 2 days before i was due to stay. Unfortuanately the saturday eveing and later throught the night i became very unwell, vomiting,diarrhoea and extremely painful stomach cramps it went worse through the early hours, by 07.30 that morn i had to ring booking.com and explain my situation as i was due to travel the next day i was very worried, i had to take that day off work. So spoke to booking.com they explained they would email nigel and explain the situation and would he consider waiving the cancellation fee, or rearrange dates for the property. They also asked me to email him and explain which i did i sent a very nice email to him and i sincerely apologised. He replied later to decline the waiver, he sent me an email to say i have to cancel with booking.com and he will give me the cleaning fee back of £42. Which left £296 i paid in total £338. I again rang booking.com who said to me you have given a fair reason as not to travel so they said they will email him again and ask him to reconsider re-arranging dates to suit both. They also rang him whilst i was on the phone no reply so they carried on emailing him. They also said to me to ring him myself to speak to him. So i rang him personally and he answered i was very upset by nigels responses, i just want to point out i have never blamed nigel for my unfortuante illness which he seems to think i was.
