Locka Old Hall Cottage

Perfect little stop on route to Scotland. Lovely garden for the kids to play in, milk and eggs provided by the owners was a nice touch.

I was paranoid about the cream carpet but otherwise everything was great.

The location. Stunning views. Very relaxing and peaceful. There are plenty of dog friendly places to eat and visit.

If anything, the carpet and bathroom floor could do with replacing. The bed isn't king-size and the mattress is very firm.

The owners were very lovely people. The property was in a lovely location with a beautiful view and gorgeous garden. Our dogs absolutely loved the space that we had. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed during our stay. Both bed and sofa bed were also very comfortable.

Unfortunately the inside of the property was a very big let down. We were told there will be a refurbishment on the whole property in the next year but for the time we stayed, it was not in a good state. The bathroom floor was coming up which invited alot of woodlice through, the carpets and rug were awfully stained. When we first got there, we spent the first hour hoovering as the place was covered in what looked liked month old webs, under the bed was filthy and the floor needed hoovering too. I also think it is a good idea to add to the description that next to the garden for the property, is the owners garden which they used a fair few times, and there are chickens that roam around too. Unfortunately this distressed our dogs quite some bit having people and animal come and go. It didn't feel private at all as you are literally just behind the owners property.

Bathroom lino stained and coming up at edge, filthy fan, stained carpet, hard mattress, ants nest in cutlery drawer, had to find alternative accommodation after 3 nights when toilet seat broke(screws corroded) and couldn't be replaced straight away, outside table filthy with moss growing on it. Over all the cottage requires updating and a deep clean.

Nice Roomy Cottage, with beautiful views from the lovely garden, nice to sit out with a drink in the evenings. The kitchen had everything you need including a dishwasher/washing machine/microwave/fridge with a freezer box, and the bed was very comfy. The host left nice tea/coffee sachets, fresh milk, and eggs from their free-range hens. My dog loved the garden although, with some of the well-grown borders, it was difficult to check if the stock fencing was secure so best to have them on the lead if poor recall.

The bathroom was a bit small but perfectly adequate.

Really quiet location with wonderful views of the Lune Valley. Very comfortable cottage with sll mod cons

The very large potholes (craters) on the narrow lane which leads to the farm and cottage
