Langstrath, Chapel Stile

What a lovely cosy, tranquil gem in our favourite area of the Lakes as it’s close to everything including a beautiful river going from one little pub to another, then a relaxing walk by Brathay River to Chester’s by the river is a must. The little sinks in the bedroom old fashioned as they were really suited the place and became very useful 😃👌 Love the front bench overlooking a tranquil setting and the bench was treated/oiled very well as it dried out very quickly in between showers 😃👏 Our cosy log/coal🔥 was perfect 2 evenings and appreciated as quite chilly in the evening. Comfy beds. The car park at the front was a bonus and as we came in the back way we didnt see how easy it was to find till we saw the dog sign saying Langstrath Cottage and thought 💭 that’s great we can use this and it’s huge and very well presented and lovely man overlooking the outside keeping it tip top 😃👏👌 Gutted with weather as we were their 2 weeks and was hit/miss ☔️ ☀️ 🌧️ ⛅️ 💨 The day we left was due a heatwave week 🥺🤣😂🤭😫

The “light” in the kitchen was very disappointing as bulb and shade was so dim; I really wanted to do my Art work and sadly I couldn’t as the dinning room very dark as it only has a tiny window and blocked by a white van every night. Really need more than 1 wooden spoon.? I treated the cottage to a potato peeler as the other two were hard work. 🤣 A glass shower screen as curtain moves around inside bath.?

Lovely location, well placed for walks from the cottage. Accomodation had all we needed and was warm and comfortable. Shop and pub nearby.

Beautiful location. Peaceful. Walks on the doorstep. Very comfortable beds. Spacious living space. Well equipped kitchen. Free WiFi. Comfortably warm with plenty of heaters, blankets, hot water bottles if required! Clean. Plenty of local info leaflets etc. Great village location with shop for the essentials and pub for drinks/meals. Lots of character. We are sure this place is absolutely amazing in the summer but it was also great for our November rainy week.

Could not park directly outside. Not complaints but recommendations: Try to arrive during daylight and do not rely on having phone or sat nav signal. Garden appeared to be used as access for other adjacent properties. This did not bother us.

Easy to get keys at a given time

The check in / out times are grim. Seems to be the norm For the area- but don’t u sweat and why
