1 Coppers Knapp

The location was great, very central and only 10 minute stroll from the seafront. The property was clean and tidy with comfortable beds. Lovely welcome pack on arrival.

There was no DVD player that we could see in the property, despite advertised as having one and instructions for use in the information box. This was disappointing as with young children we were hoping to watch some films in the evenings. In addition, the WiFi was not working on arrival and for the duration of our stay and we could not access Netflix etc which again was disappointing in an evening with a young family. We did raise these issues on the first day but did not appear to get any response - whilst we had an abundance of emails prior to our stay (which were helpful), we heard nothing at all once we had arrived and a ‘check in’ contact post arrival would have been nice/helpful to address any initial issues such as DVD player, WiFi etc…

The house was clean and comfortable with a downstairs toilet and small kitchen (although no dishwasher). The shower (which others have commented on, and must have been updated since) was very good. There were some nice touches in the house for visitors with small children (plastic cups, small cutlery and plug socket covers). The location was very handy for the shops and sea front in Lyme Regis.

Great location. Turn right and walk along the stream to get to the sea front.

Seagulls start squarking at 3am. A few loud voices at night outside the house in the street.

The location is great (although up hill!) with parking which is excellent. 2 floors and 2 toilets are a bonus! Very quiet, no noise from neighbours or the road despite of being opposite to the big car park. Welcome hamper much appreciated and bottle of milk was a nice touch!

It’s was very cold on arrival - but it warmed up very quickly while we’re out exploring Lyme Regis.

Perfect location, a short walk away from everything and the property had everything that could possibly be needed. Great.

Nothing

This neat modern end of terrace house was well located in a quiet part of town with the great bonus of good off street parking for 2 cars which in Lyme is significant. We found it comfortable and very warm (couldn't work out the heating so just had to turn radiators off!). 10mins walk down hill (steep return) to the promenade and close to places to eat. It was lovely having the little courtyard garden to enjoy the Easter sunshine.

It wasn't clear who the agent's were as Booking.com cite Sykes' Cottages whereas the in-house information name Lyme Bay Holidays. This was only a problem when we wanted to communicate an issue with the shower which was terrible- no pressure, little in any heat control. There was a bath but as an elderly couple, a shower is safer/easier. Looking at the Visitors Book this seems to have been a bone of contention for over a decade. This would be a big factor in us deciding whether to rent this property again because it wasn't cheap. Shame as we really liked so much about the house. There wasn't a dishwasher ( we'd opt for one rather than a washing machine) but for 4nts it wasn't a deal breaker.
