Bluebell and Appletree Cottages

This was a house we rented. We had stayed in the next door house last year so we knew the area and the quality of the accommodation. It met all our expectations.

The only small niggle was the weak water flow in the shower. Everything else was fine. Chocolate biscuits left for us were lovely!!

The cottages were well equipped and comfortable. w It was excellent to have a downstairs toilet in the two bedroom cottage for a family. The welcome tea coffee and biscuits was very good as this is not always found on arrival.

Some of the garden furniture was a bit rickety and one chair collapsed because the wood was rotten but it didn’t cause too much of a problem. New furniture would nice.

Great character with lots of unfulfilled potential.

None of the doors fitted properly. The blinds were all tatty and risky to operate. The furniture was shabby and uncomfortable, especially the sofa bed. One of the dining chairs had a broken seat. The mugs had not been properly washed. There were only 4 teaspoons. The freezer compartment in the fridge was frozen solid. The bottom sheet on the double bed was very badly mended and developed new holes while we were there. The mattress was less than comfortable. The cupboard in the bathroom had a large spillage of something sticky which I had to clean before we could unpack our toiletries. And the shower was totally unacceptably poor. I had to lift it down and bend right over to rinse my hair to try to get enough pressure. An ordinary tap has more pressure. Not good enough! Overall, very expensive for the quality of the offering.
