Kastro Gate Apartment ,entrance to an ancient village

Beautiful location, friendly host. Sublime experience! It feels like the ancient world, but with pristine modern conveniences.

Apartment with balcony garden view across valley .Able to sit in late afternoon and watch local farmers bring in sheep goats. Apartment at the entry to old city. Bed comfortable. Kitchen with kettle hotplate fudge. Bathroom nice with quality toiletries Very clean in old fortress city . Walk 15 minutes to lots of stairs to people beach, cement swim platform with stair entry to pristine water. Welcoming owner who gave helpful advice for walks and restaurants. Wine bar , restaurants X 3 walking distance and small grocery shop in Kastro . Need reasonable level fitness as stairs steep in places .

Buses run infrequently to Kastro from port and Apollonia. Lights on outside room all night . A blind may be useful . Car hire or taxi if want to eat in island only 9 taxis on island so need a hire car.

Le studio est situé dans les remparts de Kastro, l'un de nos grands coups de coeur du voyage, dépaysement et authenticité garanti (du moins début mai quand nous y étions). C'était parfait pour profiter de l'ambiance charmante du village, de ses commerces, de l'église des 7 martyrs, et même de très belles criques pour se baigner (accès un peu escarpé, la plus proche à 10min, la plus éloignée à 25min) ! Nous avons été très bien accueillis, le petit balcon et l'appartement sont confortables et ont beaucoup de charme !

Pas de possibilité d'occulter la lumière du jour et il faut passer par l'extérieur pour accéder au balcon mais ce sont vraiment des détails comparé à la magie des lieux !

L'emplacement était parfait, dans le joli village de Kastro, calme à souhait. Spiros est un hôte attentif qui mérite qu'on se rende dans son logement. Il nous a même emmené à Kamares pour qu'on loue une voiture.

Gorgeous little nest right at the entrance to the old town, literally in the gateway. The room is full of charm and the location is perfect. The host is really communicative and helpful. Do go to the fish restaurants at the bottom of the steps

Nikos organised our taxi from Kamares late in the evening and waited for us on arrival. What an authentic setting right at the entrance to Kastro. Close to the excellent Astro restaurant. A stonesthrow away from Seralia beach, bathing platform and lovely fish restaurant.

The owner Spiros is super nice, met us at the parking area, helped with our bags, explained some history of Kastro. The room is well appointed and well decorated, and literally in the castle gate - very charming. Good location for wandering around Kastro and area, and for driving to other sites on Sifnos. A grocery store is nearby as well. We stayed two nights but I could have stayed longer! Our cell service was spotty in the area but the wifi provided worked well.

Great location in Kastro. Room was large, aircon was good and bathroom was renovated nicely. Host helped carry our bags and sent us lots of recommendations for what to do in Sifnos.

If you’re sitting on the balcony there are a lot of wasps/bees depending on the season.
