Kolymbia Villas by StayOnRhodes was a perfect choice for our family holiday. The area is further from Rhodes Town, so a car rental or transfer is necessary (the host can help with this), but that turned out to be a huge plus. Renting a car was the best way to explore the island freely—far better than staying in a hotel and being tied to someone else’s meal schedule. The view from the villa’s terrace is breathtaking, facing the mountains—it’s like having nature in your backyard every day. The villa is well-maintained, clean, and spacious, spread over two floors with two bathrooms. All household essentials are provided, and everything is cleaned and refreshed weekly, including towels and bed linens. The pool is fantastic—refreshing, clean, and feels almost private. Usually, there were just a few people swimming, which made it super relaxing. The beach is just 5 minutes away on foot, with clear water and a slightly pebbly shore—definitely better than the beach in Rhodes Town. If you’re after soft sand, Tsambika Beach is a great option—just a short trip by bus or car from the villa. Sunbed prices there are around 15–20 EUR for two beds. There are plenty of nearby family-friendly tavernas. Our favorites were Michel and Olive Green, which always had something for both adults and kids. After dinner, the owners often surprise you with a little something local and homemade—true Greek hospitality. For those who prefer to cook, there’s a large supermarket a short walk away (map link) with everything you need, including ready-to-heat local meals. We truly loved the peaceful atmosphere, the freedom, and the feeling of home away from home. Highly recommended if you want to experience Rhodes at your own pace.

Location was beautiful with the mountains behind us, just out of the main town so quiet , restaurant opposite called Olive groves excellent with friendly staff, the villas have well maintained gardens and the pool is large with a shallow end for kids. Air con in the villas gave much needed reprieve from the 38 degree plus heat, and the villas themselves were comfortable. We met the cleaning lady who was so good to us on the last day allowing us to keep our luggage at one of the villas our two families booked and also use the downstairs to keep cool and use as a base until late afternoon as our flight was after 10 at night, I honestly don’t know what we would have done without her kindness as it was so hot during our stay.

it would be helpful to have an information folder about the local area, they are self catering apartments but we initially thought we could get what we needed from the supermarkets within walking distance but only the very essentials such as snacks, bread and milk are sold in these so definitely need a car, which we ended up renting and eventually found a supermarket a 5 minute drive away with fresh produce. An information folder with useful numbers, supermarkets and local points of interest etc would be a benefit.

Lovely villa, great pool and nice and close to a number of good restaurants. Elias is a fantastic host, along with the lovely house maid who works so hard.

This place was amazing. We had a villa #2 that is probably the farest one from the pool but this was actually an advantage as it provided more privacy. The villa was cleaned regularly by a lady who made sure that we do not miss anything.

Property was in a nice small complex of houses with a large shared pool, nicely landscaped gardens

Check in process very poor, we were told the key would be in the door and the ‘property name will be on the door’ however we were not told the name and in fact it was a number. If it hadn’t been for the kind lady from the restaurant across the road seeing us looking very lost, we would not have found our property. We visited in April, pool was so cold it was unusable! Kitchen poorly equipped, not even cereal bowls in the cupboard. No information with the property, had a lot of problems with the hot water and a plumber had to come, but would have been useful to have an information folder for the property as expected to turn switches on and off in the fuse box for hot water.

Swimming pool, lots of space, convenient for town and beach and very clean, excellent communication. Would stay again in October as excellent value for money.

Villa mostly in shade (October) backs onto (small) main road, so quite noisy and restaurant opposite quite noisy with after hour parties and karaoke.

We had great villa. Very clean and pool/yard was taking care well. House was clean and elias was great host for us. Vacation was like we want it with big group(with children): no stress about anything only resting and having a good time!

We booked two villas, for our big family (kids,grandparents, brother and his family) all of us was very satisfied. We liked the quiet neighborhood. Kids liked the pool. We liked sitting at the terrace with a pool view. Everything was by hand. There is a restaurant next to it, with very friendly waitress Julia and delicious food. It is also close to the sea.
