Traditional house by the sea

The traditional feeling of the house is wonderful. Like stepping back in time yet with all the amenities you need. The location is perfect. It is across from the beach and just in the edge of the town. Easy walk to port as well. The balcony overlooking the sea was excellent as was the porch at the back if you wanted shade. Betty, our host, was delightful and very kindly let us in early and let us stay late as she didn’t have other guests that day.

This did not bother us but it would have been an issue for my parents if they’d decided to come- the stairs in the house are steep and it’s on 3 floors. Just to be aware of if travelling with anyone with mobility issues.

We knew about the stairs but where still not really prepared for it...

Beautiful well kept traditional home . You can tell it is a family home special knick knacks throughout. It is a 3 level home with many balcony/ porch options. Close to everything in the main port town of Mandrakion. Many wonderful restaurants and tavernas within close walking distance. The home had 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms. A washing. Achine is a plus. Plenty of drawer and places to hang your clothes. Betty was a wonderful hostess. She meets you at the port and walks you to the home. She leaves you to enjoy your vacation. She gave us her phone number in case we needed anything. And we could always interact through Booking.com She always gave us a quick response. We saw Betty the night before we left and she warned us of high seas that our ferry may be canceled. We were able to change our plans for the next island in time before the travel agent closed for the evening. She even left us a lovely home made sweet.

We liked everything about the home. We were fine and had no trouble, but if you have difficulty climbing stairs this is probably not the place for you.

Super schönes Haus, viel zu entdecken in der Wohnung. Lage perfekt und Betty war eine sehr sehr liebe Gastgeberin. Es gab auch selbstgemachte Kekse und Sirups für uns :)

Loved everything. As it states it is a traditional house over 3 floors. Has balconies back and front with great views. It is literally a dozen steps away from the small beach in Mandraki. The owners John and Betty were so helpful, bumped into John every day I was there. Also met with Betty at their other home and tried her home made chocolates. Just what I hoped for, old time Greece, with the accommodation, hospitality and vibe. Highly recommend Nisyros and this accommodation
