Calle Veneziana

Locatie is erg goed, in het rustige gedeelte van de oude stad. echt rustige omgeving en dichtbij authentiek pleintje met terrassen. De weekmarkt is om de hoek. Manos is echt ontzettend aardig en behulpzaam. We mochten overal gebruik (zonnebrand/wasmiddel etc) van maken en we kregen soms een wat vers fruit aangeboden van zijn moeder. De stranden/baaitjes die wat verder van het centrum liggen zijn echt heel veel mooier en rustiger dan bij de boulevard. de moeite om fiets/auto te huren en daar naar toe te gaan.

De badkamer is echt heel klein en eenvoudig en je moet altijd dweilen na het douchen. De 2e slaapkamer & dakterras is bereikbaar via een lastige wenteltrap en heeft een heel hard bed.

Charming house with wonderful & friendly host. The house was well equipped & had a beautiful rooftop terrace. Everything was perfect for us. The host was exceptionally helpful. We highly recommend this place for a distinct stay in Chania.

Calle Veneziana is in the perfect location, to explore the old city, yet is within a walkable distance from the facilities of Chania town. It is full of character, comfortable and with a genuinely local, established and welcoming community. I loved the easy greetings I experienced every morning from neighbours out and about, walking their dogs, or simply going about their days. As a visitor, I loved the local tavernas within a minute's walk, particularly the one adjacent to the conservatory, allowing diners to enjoy a relaxed meal while enjoying a gentle musical soundtrack of live rehearsals. On a practical level, the furnishings and decor are gorgeous and every detail, from the coffee machines to the simple things, like salt, pepper and olive oil, are provided, along with laundry pods and even sun lotion.

There's absolutely nothing I didn't like, it was perfect. However, the house is genuinely old and I have older friends, of a certain vintage, who would struggle with the spiral staircases that access the upper floors. But that's not a criticism at all. Any traveller needs to do their research and understand that an authentically historical property such as this reflects it's age.

Fantastic location. Beautifully clean and well presented house. Really great aircon. Welcome gifts were lovely. Manos was the perfect host. He was accessible and prompt in replying to our questions and attentive to our needs. The icing on the cake - Manos’ leaving gifts to us. So thoughtful.

There is nothing to dislike about this lovely little house

The hosts were so friendly and generous, and quick to reply if we needed anything. They even helped us get a taxi and helped with our luggage to the square. We appreciated all of the food and other items left for us to make our stay special. We even received homemade gifts, which we will always cherish! The house itself is such a cute and comfortable older home, with everything we needed and more. The location is also perfect for exploring the different parts of town. We hope to be back soon!

the ground floor was infested with cockroaches.

The house Maybe can be ok for maximum 2 peeos not more. the bathroom is not accessible, it is created from a space under the stairs and the room on the top floor is created from an attic. The bad thing the ground floor was infested with cockroaches I m sorry for the host because him is very nice and gentleman but I think it's right to write it for those who have to choose that apartment

Charming old Venetian style house in the heart of the old town which retains its neighbourhood feel as it hasn’t been over-modernised like most of Chania so it still has ‘heart’

The spiral staircase up to the second bedroom is a bit tricky so it wouldn’t be suitable for people with mobility issues but it adds to the quirky charm of the house

- Great location in old town close to the port and city beach - Friendly host who helped with everything and made lots of presents - authentic building inside and outside with lots of interesting details - everything you need at the kitchen for cooking - air conditioner at every floor - Great roof terrace with sunbeds and umbrella - All the necessary equipment for daily routine: washing machine, iron, hair dryer, etc.

- shower is small and very close to the toilet, it'd be good to at least split it with shower curtain - stairs to the 1st floor have kind of wooden stick to handle, but it would be more convenient to have stair railings for older people - mattress at the 1st floor is very soft, for somebody who got used to a hard mattress, it's a bit uncomfortable - as it's in the old town, sometimes it's loud because of neighbors and tourists
