Archanes Nature Retreat Residence

Location is wonderful. Restaurants in Archanes are within walking distance. House was clean and thoughtfully arranged. We felt like honored guests.

It takes time for water to warm when the water heater is turned on.

A beautiful retreat in the heart of real Crete – highly recommended! We absolutely loved our stay at Archanes Nature Retreat Residence. The check-in was very easy via a key box, and everything went smoothly from the start. Although Anni doesn’t live on site, she was incredibly attentive – every couple of days she sent us helpful updates and suggestions about what to do in the area: local events in the village, wine tastings, day trips, and even activities for days with less sunshine (like visiting the Cretaquarium). Her son, who also takes care of the garden, stopped by a few times – always kind and helpful. We even received fresh grapes, apples, and pomegranates straight from the garden, which was such a lovely gesture! The house itself is modern, very comfortable, and perfectly equipped: two bathrooms (one with a jacuzzi), an open kitchen-living area, washing machine, and even a telescope for stargazing. Everything was clean and beautifully decorated – we especially loved the lighting and the open design. The location is great: about 15 minutes from Heraklion Airport, right in the island’s main wine region, and only a short drive to the traditional village of Archanes where you can experience real Cretan life away from the tourist crowds. Many wineries, local markets, and the sea are easily reachable (a rental car is definitely recommended). In short – a wonderful home away from home, full of warmth, authenticity, and Cretan charm. We would definitely come back! 🇬🇷🍇

Located on a busy street, with little connection to the idea of a "nature retreat" The house is a semi-detached unit, not a standalone property No direct access to the pergola Terrace and pergola are very minimally furnished, with no real option to relax outdoors – a proper lounge set would make a big difference During our stay, there were repeated issues with water supply – sometimes no water at all, or just a weak, cold stream Internet was unreliable This place might work if you're just looking for a comfortable place to sleep, but nothing more.

Maybe the best place I've ever been. The house is huge and well located. Everything you need is there. The check is was very easy and quick

The apartment was comfortable, spacious and super clean and in a great location close to shops and restaurants.

The residence was very clean, spacious and private. It had a beautiful view , and enjoyed the balcony for my early breakfasts and coffees. Also enjoyed the pergola and grill for dining in the afternoons . Even used the hammock to rest and enjoy the nature's sounds . Really enjoyed the location . It truly is a nature retreat.
