Absolutely beautiful location ideal for family holiday. Breathtaking view from the cottage. Peace and quiet place. This cottage would be an absolute fantastic holiday accomodation...one of a kind...but....

This cottage doesn't need much to be perfect. Only a bit of attention and love. I felt like there is a bit of negligence regarding the service/ maintenance of the property which could do so much better and doesn't cost a fortune to fix it. I checked the property the first day and reported the issues I found ( lights not working upstairs , broken shower handle or window handle, tier and holes on the curtain, missing and broken lampshades)....and plus the dirty sofa and not the most comfortable mattresses made the whole issue worse...all these " little things" but too much all together. I don't want to sound too fussy but I believe that little bit of effort would make a huge difference. I read about these issues in 2-3 years old reviews about Crohy Cottage ( as I was curious if it's only me who feels like that ) ....and that's sad because this cottage has a spirit and you could feel like home even far away from your own home.

House was clean, comfortable and clearly well maintained. Host gave clear directions to the location of the house, which was well positioned within nature with exceptional views of the Bay and natural landscape of Donegal, regardless of the weather. Guidance given to the history of the area and ‘must see’ places to go. Very happy with the cost and will be back again!

The property was a fantastic little windswept cottage right on the crown of the Republic. The views were fantastic and the experience driving over the coastal boreen’s is always a fun commute. The bedrooms were comfortable and well sized, the stove was a brilliant addition and the owners kindly left a sizeable amount of firewood for us to use. At night, there’s barely a light in the sky which feels brilliantly primeval. Dungloe town is only a 10-min drive with fantastic coffee and sambos at Hook’d Coffee Co. There are a couple of carrot eager donkeys right on your doorstep and waking up to a cluster of cows expertly descending a coastal cliff side in search of tender morning vittles is a waking sight I shan’t soon forget.

The only minor criticism I have is that the tap water from the kitchen tap was quite cloudy/silty. We hadn’t prepared for this so had to boil water on night 1. However, it’s likely that Storm Éowyn may have affected wells/mains water in the area so this most likely is not the fault of the hosts.

Amazing location with a view on the sea right from the living room. We will cherish the memories of fire in the stove and beautiful seashore outside.
