Pean-buiten Waterlodges

We stayed here for a very relaxing and enjoyable week. We often stay in holiday cabins in the Netherlands while this one is quite different in that it is situated within a sailing school and the cabins are really part of nature and are 'soaked' in it rather than being placed 'on top' of nature as often is the case. The staff is super friendly, professional, helpful, and there is very informal, personable vibe to the place. The cabins are lovely, atmospheric, very comfortable, very specious, clean, quiet and well equipped. Very comfortable shower/bathroom, comfortable beds, specious bedrooms, excellent kitchen, specious an cozy living room, wide windows with views all around, and wide outdoor balcony from which in the evenings we watched an owl and its little owlet having flying lessons and in the mornings we had visits from the three local ducks who live in the near by creek..... and if it gets warm you can always walk (50 meters....) to the canal and have a refreshing and relaxing swim!

There are arguably more exciting areas for walking and cycling in Friesland but there are some really cute villages around and you can rent a boat and head to the near by Alde Feanen nature reserve.
