Shippon Cottage - Brosterfield Farm

Surprisingly quiet and yet close to village/towns. Lots of walks from the farm (leave the car). We walked into Foolow for dinner in pub, less than 10mins. House decorated really well, great care and attention. Kitchen well equipped, heating and fireplace available. Downstairs toilet and utility. Very comfortable for family of 6 (we were 2). And of course, dogs allowed but it did not smell nor have evidence of dogs so good for people w/out dogs too. Owner very responsive and helpful in the run up to stay. Sachets of milk, tea and coffee so could have a cuppa when you arrived. Basics like cling film and foil, dish detergent and hand soaps provided. Dishwasher! Good selection of glasses and crockery, pots/pans. And of course bedding/towels. Even toilet paper was good quality!

It was really homely, nothing we didn't like. It really is self catering so you will need basics like milk/bread etc. Only 'food' provided was salt/pepper, few sachets of tea/coffee and milk sachets. It's NOT a complaint, just good to be food prepared.

The accommodation was in a great location, the instructions were easy to follow for getting there, sufficient parking and space for a group of people and the hosts were really helpful with all our enquires.

There wasn't much not to like about this property, all the feedback has been good!

Perfect location, warm, homely, everything we needed.

Wifi struggled but we weren't there for the wifi.

The house is absolutely amazing and cozy and Penny is a lovely host!

I have mixed feeling about this bc we really loved it but one of the "rules"("please, before your leave...) of the house was to strip all the bed sheets away and put the towels we used inside the duvet. When we are on holiday, big or small, you don't really feel like doing the normal things you do at home, like getting all the bedding away and putting the bin out. I might sound "lazy" but that's how i feel about it. Overall I think it is quite pricy, thinking cost x benefit.

Perfect location, very comfy house with lots of thoughtful touches. Well stocked kitchen, lovely wood burner. Good wifi. Owner very helpful with any questions. This was our second stay and we will certainly return.
