Paradise Lost Plitvice

Very peaceful and calm place, yet it is easy to get to.

The feeling of being into a remote location (looking around, you can only see nature and you can look quite far) but you are actually very close to the main road with shops and restaurants on less than a 10’ drive. (The road traffic you can also hear when it is all quiet I must admit but when the jacuzzi bubbles are on you won’t hear it anymore 😉) is a very good combination. The owner is very reachable and helpful. The airco is upstairs of the duplex so cooling of the main sleeping area is easy but also keeping the kids cool who slept downstairs in the sofabed was easy as there was a fan available which could be used to blow the cold air into the lower area. There are also outside wooden shutters for all windows which really helps to keep it cool and dark. The outside wood oven area is clean and really great to use. The fact that you can go to the shed to chop some wood with an axe has proven to be a true bonus for anyone’s masculinity 😉.

A really great place in a beautiful, quiet area. The view from the terrace is so nice and it's perfect to relax in the whirlpool.

It was just the best! Everything was like we were imagine. Perfet holiday home! It was super private, garden was so wide and clean. Bbq facility was easy to use. Nice to have some relaxing time sitting on a chair at the porch. Clean and well equiped kitchen and cozy bedroom.

It is a lost paradise.

Paradise Lost is a sweet house just before the tourist region starts, a nice, well designed house at the end of a typical street with not yet finished houses. The house is big and had a lot of amenities, like dishwasher - which we really enjoyed, stove, oven, filter coffee maker, etc. Given the season the jacuzzi was not available. We did not use the sauna, but it was there. The blankets were very comfortable. Catherine was easily available and very nice.

We booked the house due to the washing machine as it was in the middle of our trip. The washing machine worked, however it flooded the bathroom while running, giving us a wet bathroom at the start. We had to use one of our guest towels (2 in total) to wipe everything, luckily we had a personal towel with us. The other downside was the not properly functioning fireplace. We are experienced with fireplaces, but this one needs maintenance as it let the smoke inside the house - we therefore could not use it and most of our clothes (freshly washed) smelled of smoke for the rest of our trip. We had an electric radiator to use instead - just make sure to turn it off when you leave the house - we left it on and had to drive back from the lakes to turn it off, to be sure not to start a fire :-)
