White Strand Beach House

Comfy living room, Big safe garden (gated), open fire, minutes walk to the beach, the shower was great, not to mention the kitchen and all its utilities. Oh! and the was excellent!!!

The house, which did have a very comfort beds, was located just on the edge of town as you drive into Buncrana, and the beach was located within walking distance across the main road. The town, however, is located within driving distance, and as the nearest bar does not service food, so you do need to drive to the town if you are looking to eat out.

If you are looking a house that comes with the scenic views of Donegal this is not the house for you. It is facing an old factory to the front and a housing development to the back. The house itself is somewhat dated in terms of wear and tear and the heating which required euros, appeared temperamental only working on the 1st night of our 3 night stay, which meant the house was cold at night. The grass in the garden was overgrown and in general it felt the house lacked a bit of care and attention, windows were dirty and overall the cleanliness lacked a high standard. The shower is not suitable for disabled persons given its position and as you have to step over into it. It is advertised with the ability to play tennis although I am not sure why and unfortunately the swings were damaged. If the weather is poor and you are looking some TV for children you will need to ensure you bring a firestick as the TV has limited channels and we were unable to sign into Netflix. The house does however have WIFI.

I loved the homely , spotless relaxing house, Anita our host was so helpful & telephoned the evening we arrived to make sure all was ok, the location was ideal for lovely walks & the mountains on view from the front of the house gorgeous. I also loved sitting out on the bench in the garden stargazing

The convience of the location to shops, hotels etc in Buncrana

The house is not a beach house as advertised, no seaviews & you need to drive to the beach. House wasn't what I expected for the price paid, decor needs updating. The 4 spot lights over the kitchen table were blown, kitchen presses had a very musty smell inside, cutlery was dirty & there was rubbish all over the back yard from an over flowing wheelie bin when we arrived. Swings were very old & not safe for the children. The electricity was cut off an hour before we checked out, at 10am on the day of depature.

The twin bed by the window was extremely uncomfortable
