The lack of light pollution, the quick response to concerns, the layout and rural location.

Some parts and appliances probably need updating considering the rental price

Even though we actually stayed in the stables cottage next door this did not detract from our stay and the owners were more than helpful in making us feel welcome. The woodland setting is idyllic and peaceful. The cottage is well equipped with everything you would need.

It was quite difficult to find as the postcode took us to the wrong place. The sign on the gate is small and not very visible as you arrive.

Location was very quiet with lots of birdsong all the time. Great to have two bathrooms. Very nice sitting area. Free WiFi which did give a good signal.

The roads to get to the property were very narrow and windy. Had to be very careful to go slowly in case of vehicle in other direction. The property could do with bigger and better signs (names of properties) at the entrance to the car park as currently it is easily missed.

Nice wonderfull huge parking,yard also house good conditions ..Verry clean air ..Lot of plants arrownd ..Silence...Peacefull..

Road to the location is verry narrow last 2 milles.. a bit difficult mountain road...need to be carefull .....hilly..Need to be smart driver ....also Gos location in not really acvurate iLocation is 300 m in front ....

We provided our own meals. The house was in an excellent and peaceful location and very suitable for walking and exercising our dog. Very well equipped and well heated. A selection of things to do was available and a welcome bottle of wine.

Cannot think of any improvements.

Able to check in through lock box. The house was warm on arrival on a cold day. The house was comfortable and had enough towels. I liked the introductory notes left for us and the little Christmas card and milk.

Secluded location so very quiet, and a joy to watch the birds including the many curious pheasants. Perfect for our cats to roam about safely outdoors. Properly dark nights were fabulous for star gazing. Cottage kitchen is large and especially well equipped which made catering for our family a pleasure. The "house collection" of books, DVD's and board games were a nice touch. Bed and bathroom linen was clean, generous and of good quality. We especially appreciated that the owners had pre heated the cottage for us - perfect for our arrival and self check-in late on a frosty winter night. Nearest pub is a 6 minute drive away - we weren't prepared to walk it given the icy and narrow roads but I expect its a lovely hike in nicer weather. There is a sister cottage adjoining Grooms Cottage - don't know what impact that would have if another party was renting next door, but certainly we see the potential to have additional friends/family stay as part of a larger group rental.

The cottage is overdue for a deep clean and a paint refresh. It's very nicely furnished, but is looking tired. The wind whistles through the 2 sets of doors to the garden area so even the curtains covering them cannot reduce the cold air coming into the cottage. The parking area is circa 75m to the cottage entrance so if you have heavy suitcases, know that you'll be lugging them down a loose stone and then slippery paved pathway - wasn't an issue for us and actually only added to the charming rural appeal, but if you're clopping about in fancy high heels dragging a tonne of weight in your suitcase, it will be a challenge.
