A house and a half on Beara peninsula

Location was perfect. Was lovely and compact and had everything you would need. Host had an electric blanket on the bed. You would need it this time of year.

Nothing. It was perfect

The pod was nice, well equipped with kitchen equipment etc. with a comfy bed and an electric heater to make it as cosy as needed. The host Jacinta communicated very well, and was available if needed.

Dislikes would be too strong, but there were some issues. We were only there for one night, so didn’t trouble the host with them, as it would have taken up too much of our limited time. But we wanted to provide an honest review so that it might prove helpful to host and users. There is still an insect/bug issue, as mentioned in previous comments. Most noticeable in the shower and bathroom, where there were quite a lot of wood lice. They are harmless, but they were off putting and we didn’t use the bathroom much as a result, especially the shower. The pods are nice, but the surroundings aren’t great, and the views are poor. More pictures showing the actual location would be helpful. To be honest, for the price, we expected more. Other things would just be suggestions to make it more comfortable. Such as a rug in the kitchen/sitting area, as the floor is quite cold at this time of the year, and maybe some instructions for the light switches in the kitchen area. We only figured that out the next morning when reading previous review comments. Also useful would be some kind of timed heater in the bathroom to keep it relatively warm, as it gets cold when not in use, so it’s not the best when popping out to the toilet in the evening or during the night. We didn’t want to just leave it on permanently as it could use a lot of electricity. A timed heater to keep it ambient might also help with the wood lice issue, as they are attracted to damp, cold conditions. Overall, while it’s a nice idea, the ambiance doesn’t live up to expectations and we definitely felt the price didn’t reflect the offering.

Host were friendly and helpful with the facilities cleaned properly.

The view you have is of the back of an old house, not as advertised! The free parking is over the road on a bad section where your car may be knocked by a bad or drunk driver. The bathroom/ shower and toilet is in a separate pod that is located next to your separate sleeping and kitchen unit, which means you have to leave your warm unit into the cold outside to access the toilet if you need it in the middle of the night.

The front door had been splintered and would not lock properly and the heating wasn’t working so we had to use the fan heater from the bathroom. The outside bathroom passageways was very slippery in the rain

I liked the quirkiness,the uniqueness and the electric blanket.

As an older person and used to a higher toilet that would be my only failing.
