Poppy Barn

The barn is comfortable and well-equipped. The decor is stylish and quite unique! We were warm during our stay. There is an excellent pub nearby, and a short drive to Holt for more facilities. There is a private driveway for parking (beware reversing out as there is little visibility). Despite the drawbacks below, we would love to return next year.

We found it very hard to find the barn on arrival. The postcode in our satnav sent us to the right road, wrong village. We eventually phoned for directions which were somewhat helpful, but there are many churches, many manor houses and also many Langham Roads in this part of Norfolk! Once inside the decor of the barn has been changed since the photographs were taken - it's much darker now. The lighting inside the barn could have been better - the bathroom was dimly lit, and downstairs it was too dark to read. The dining chairs are far too low for the table. There is an outside light on a motion-sensor, but it kept triggering at night, waking us. We couldn't find out how to switch this off.

The shower thermostat didn’t work so it was difficult to regulate the temperature.

Beautiful, comfortable retreat; usually fairly quiet and restful.

Sadly, this visit, the neighbours were unbearably noisy during the day, which spoiled things a bit!

Quiet location . Well appointed inside with tasteful decor. The design and furnishings are not what you would expect in an average let. Top quality and beautiful. An extremely comfortable space.

We loved the village and the interior deco of Poppy Barn. Very comfortable and cosy. A tasteful blend of cottage and contemporary style. Quality linen on the bed.

We would have appreciated a mirror in the road opposite the entrance to Poppy Barn to help us exit the property as it was A blind exit onto a road with fast local drivers.

Great location. Excellent information about the area provided by the owner. We had one small issue which the owner sorted out very efficiently.

Did not stay at the property as was not suitable for the very elderly. This should have been stipulated in Booking .com particulars. Considerably out of pocket .
